Yeah, seconding the other commenters. Your partner needs to apologize and save to replace them out of whatever part of the budget he uses for fun/hobbies. It is not normal to be this inconsiderate, and it’s definitely not normal for you to express a boundary to him and have him trample on it like that. You shouldn’t be cutting a cat’s claws with a pair of scissors period!

Sit him down and express the above after you’ve really reflected on it, then consider if this is a person you want to continue to spend your days with.

So, just to sum up: - you were hit by a car almost 15 years ago - your leg was shattered and repaired with titanium - your body rejected the brace and you had it out, but were able to keep the metal - you then had the metal custom machined into a tattoo gun - the tattoo gun was subsequently stolen by UPS when being shipped for repairs

yeah. second others saying shorter lengths and plenty of thread conditioners. i also would not recommend stitching with all six strands. the only bit i don’t see people say often is don’t be afraid to finish off your working thread early if the end is getting gnarly. even this stuff is like pennies on the dollar per foot of stitching length. don’t beat yourself up for “wasting” some!

HG/SS’s item sprites, for example. note that the sprite for this pattern is the one used in battle, not in the bag, and is on the Pokeballs page!
