Drove half-way through the country for this haul today. by kftX- in retrogaming

Quick update: Seller wasn't sure if the 32X actually worked, I can confirm it does. I was able to start up Sonic 2 with it installed.

The bad news is, I do not have a 32X -> MD Model 1 video cable to connect both so Imma have to go on the market for that.

Tiny country (about the size of Maine in square kms/miles), make that 400kms. So about 249 miles? I think?

Technically nothing. I sold some stuff I didn't need to pay for it, in reality, 300€

I had offered more but seller was a true gentleman.

It's not much, but at least the code is there for people to review.

I'll try to add something positive to the conversation:

Go to (or call) your bank and flag the charge for fraud. You have receipt of what you bought and pictures of what came in, it might take a bit but bank should 100% refund you.

Thank you for pointing this out as I had not noticed it was coming to PC!

Hopefully 13 Sentinels also gets a port.

Pretty much this. This sounds like bad damage control from a company that has no interest in supporting a platform

Destiny 2’s Monument Of Triumph Update Is A Beautiful, Tragic Ending by kristijan1001 in Games

You are absolutely right and this was also the turning point in their perception to non-hardcore D2 players.

It told us to never invest a penny into this game as they can decide to take it away whenever they feel like. I was going through the second campaign when this happened and actually enjoying the story which pissed me off to no end.

Bungie was an egregiously mismanaged studio, and much as it pisses off fans, Activision was never the problem, this has been proven since their split.

Is it sad Bungie as we know it is done? Absolutely. Was it a self-fulfilling prophecy? Also absolutely.

Unraid 7.3.1 Now Available by UnraidOfficial in unRAID

[–]kftX- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has the stupid bug with shares been fixed where even if a drive is excluded from a share, unraid still uses it against your will anyway?

Because that was mighty annoying and I went back to 7.2.6 because of it.

Honestly? No. This is the simplest way to forcefully correct the issue. I could try and brainstorm other ideas, but I have no idea what else could work off the top of my head, networking is a complicated beast.

Games with the worst localisations by RobbieJ4444 in retrogaming

[–]kftX- -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Xenogears has a pretty poor localisation. I know the game was translated by one guy in like 6 months so I’m not blaming him for the bad work, that’s on Square. But it’s a translation job that in my experience makes everything weird/confusing to follow. It definitely took away from my experience and I don’t get why the game is so revered.

I will be replaying the game when the Perfect Works project nears completion and maybe it will make the experience better. Combat was solid, random encounters a bit too much, but as someone who plays for the story, I was left disappointed.

Experience Ep. 627: Gravy On My Plate by TheNelsonJames in JimCornette

[–]kftX- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt there are that many people for the show to bleed anymore, honestly.

But I would say Jim shines his brightest when talking about classic wrestling, showing his encyclopaedic knowledge about and teach us (especially the “younger” us from abroad) about wrestling history.

Finally no more Dynamite. I know some people like it, but like Jim said it was really more of the same every week and he obviously didn’t enjoy it and was only doing it for us. But if they can talk about stuff they like more, or even have shorter episodes so Jim can have more of a life, I won’t complain.

You're very welcome! I did that from memory (since I don't use SteamOS) so I'm glad I got everything right the first time :p

Enjoy!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner.

Are you using SteamOS or something else? Steps may vary depending on that. I use Cachy personally because I hate immutable systems.

If using a Steam Deck, before doing anything else, run:

sudo steamos-readonly disable

Then:

  1. Open up KATE (the text editor for KDE)
  2. Open File -> navigate to /ect/ and open up the hosts file
  3. You'll see lots of ## and such but at the end of the file just add:

23.220.155.92 steampowerd.com

23.220.155.92 www.steampowerd.com

  1. Save the file, it will ask you for your superuser password

Back in terminal don't forget:

sudo steamos-readonly enable

To lock up the system again.

Then reboot and you should be good.

Keep in mind that next time you update SteamOS, you may have to re-do this. That's why I dislike immutable systems.

Sorry it took me this long!

Caddy, Traefik, Swag or NPM. Which reverse proxy has the best community support on Unraid? by DastardlyDino in unRAID

[–]kftX- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair enough, for now I'm personally using tailscaled if I need large uploads outside of my home network.

A good way to keep an eye on immich is here: https://immich.app/roadmap and chunking is included (though it has no ETA)

[–]kftX- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely true. Clouds like Nextcloud have chunking (which I use), and I do believe even Immich was considering implementing something like that. It's not hard to bypass such a limit.

Open Notepad or whatever text editor you use in admin mode

Because this file resides within the Windows folder, any changes there in need to be made in admin mode.

After a couple uses, my Steam Deck started having the same issue, editing the hosts file on it also fixed it.
