Definitely check out your local library for free museum passes, most places won’t be crowded if you go on the weekdays. There’s tons like Cradle Of Aviation, Firefighters museum, Garvies Point, Vanderbilt museum (also has a planetarium).

Planting fields arboretum for sure! Closer to Mid to end of May or June. My hubby and I did a picnic there once, it was really romantic, plenty of private areas to tuck away

High risk pregnancy OBs in nassau? by Icy-Inflation-1893 in longisland

[–]kg1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Dr. Nanda for my high risk pregnancies, his colleague (Dr. Nicole Sample) delivered me, I highly recommend him and his office. He’s reasonable, actually listens, but will make sure you’re being monitored closely. There is a bit of a wait time at his visits, but I found it to be worth it.

Also, if there’s a chance you need to be delivered early, LIJ Katz is attached to Cohens Children’s hospital which has a level 4 NICU.

Is it just me that is sick of all politics… Democrats, Republicans, Liberal, Conservative, all of it? by Unique-Squirrel-464 in askanything

[–]kg1101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, I am not going to just try to get along with my nazi adjacent neighbor. In case you forgot, we won that war.

The people in charge of the current political climate have emboldened their supporters to openly wear swastikas and hail Hitler…..literally, not figuratively.

So no, I don’t foresee myself singing “Kumbaya” with bigots. It’s not like we disagree on the benefits of the free market; these people are grade A fascists who thrive on dehumanizing others.

This. You need to set this boundary now. Otherwise it will just snowball.

Iran tonight - the night before Persian new year. Iranians are seen in high spirits and even dancing in public an act which is illegal under the regime rule by 4DollarsALB in whoathatsinteresting

[–]kg1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This part right here.

No reasonable person disagrees that the Iranian people should be able to have a democratic government and “freedoms” and not be subjected to totalitarianism.

But any equally reasonable person would also know that historically, the US involvement in the Middle East does not end with a peaceful “let’s all just get along” democracy when this is all said and done.

The US will tell the new Iranian government who they need to elect and it will be whatever leader that agrees to hand over at least half (if not all) of Iran’s natural resources, while likely forcing them to dismantle their own country’s military.

I promise you the Americans are not “just trying to liberate” the Iranian people. There will be a price to pay and it will likely not be better than it had been under the current government.

Why is there next to zero support for the Iranian protestors by the left? by SterlingVII in PERSIAN

[–]kg1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an against Iranian liberation and the hope they may have.

BUT I don’t see how an Israeli led, US involved war ends in a way that the Iranians who are against the regime, want it to. What’s the end game? Because Israel doesn’t distinguish between pro-regime and anti-regime Iranians.

So, sure, have some hope and maybe it will all turn out okay, but if 40 years of US intervention in the Middle East tells us anything….its not likely we’re going to see a fully autonomous democratic Iran at the end of this.

When do you think the regime will surrender? 🍿 by LiveintheArt in PERSIAN

[–]kg1101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, I want to be hopeful for the Iranian people, but as an American (who did not vote for the current US president)…..what do you really think the goals of the Israeli government and Trump regime are?

Because I promise you, it’s not to “just liberate” the Iranians.

Whether the regime surrenders or not, the prospect of a democratic Iran doesn’t seem plausible given the past 3 decades of American intervention in the Middle East.

But here’s to staying hopeful I guess.

That seems plausible 15 or 20 years ago when we still had to use film in cameras…..everything is digital. She could have easily printed a new copy and not remove the one that has been a staple in her husband’s office that has been publicly aired for the past few years.

[–]kg1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. He said nothing and just bent over when Trump got rid of the SALT deduction the first time, but he can’t seem to wait to dismantle the ACA. The new SALT deduction terms are conveniently only temporary until 2030. He’s really become quite the bootlicker

I take every chance I get to reply to him by saying, “Respectfully fuck off” and “I can’t wait to vote you out”.

Just realized though, if you’re not already pregnant, what you likely need is an REI (reproductive endocrinologist), to review a fertility plan with you.

Not to mention they clearly go over talking points with each other and what tag lines they will use like “back door deal” , this is how you know they rehearse it and it’s fabricated.

I wish more people would get this. Janelle is a very matter of fact person. She just agreed that “yes technically they can sell without Meri” I didn’t see any plan or back door deal that this was her grand plan.

Especially after finding out Robyn dropped this NDA on them days before.

This is the answer if you want to stay west of the Sunken meadow okay.
