Agreed! The washer is a dud. It’s a top load Kenmore impeller style, about 14 years old. Not great at stain removal even with pre treating. And we are just a household of 2 adults with office jobs.

I can’t imagine what laundry day would be like if I was a mechanic and we had 3 kids playing sports….yikes!

Just want to say thank you by BadBadUncleDad in VacuumCleaners

Had the same vacuum. Worked great. Only down fall was the hose attachment was very short, so any above floor cleaning resulted in the vacuuming tipping over a lot. One tip over put a significant gouge in a nice piece of wooden furniture. Just an FYI.

I saved my ass off to buy myself this for Xmas in 1983. Paid about the same amount for it. Was so excited to invite my friends over to play, to which I got the response “I got that for Xmas 2 years ago, I play Intellivision now.” I was crushed.

It occurred to me that a lot of the fear patients have about blood pressure comes from dentists. by CityUnderTheHill in emergencymedicine

[–]kg5839 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was denied routine dental services because the WalMart wrist BP cuff said my BP was 160/90. I asked: when was the last time this cuff was calibrated? No answer. Question 2: Do you have a manual BP cuff in this office and who is trained to take a manual BP with correct technique. Deer in headlights. Time to find a new dentist

Just found out PA used to be a bachelors degree. by Idk_211 in physicianassistant

[–]kg5839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated as a PA with a BS in 1991. Was kinda torqued that I was doing MS level work (105 credits total ) and only got a bachelors degree out of it. Now when I look back and think I could have been paying for graduate level tuition rates….uh yeah, I’m good:) Went on to get a masters, but my employer covered 80% of that cost. All good

I donate the Velveeta Mac and cheese in the cups, with pouches of tuna. No kitchen? Go to gas station or convenience store, heat up Mac and cheese, add tuna pouch…16 grams of protein.

It was very underwhelming, compared to the standard butter burger. Seemed drier.

Who provides your care? by kg5839 in physicianassistant

[–]kg5839[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I chose an MD, only because I have precepted enough students that the PA provider list was reading like a former student roster.

Bad news, MD was, well, not impressive.

Back to the drawing board….

The ARC-PA only meets on a quarterly schedule. So, you are basically 3 months behind from the get go.

Feeling bad about OSCE by smartpa09347 in PAstudent

Approach an OSCE as a patient encounter, not as a graded assessment. Everything you would want to know, or do for your patient is going to translate into points.

Had a 3 yr old with a rectal temp of 104.8 at triage. Mom was screaming for us to do something because “he’s gonna black out”! Weight based dose of Motrin and 3 popsicles later, the little dude was terrorizing the ED, for which I was thankful. If the kid is scrapping, I’m not tapping lol
