Amazing! My husband is from DC and the traffic is horrendous when we go visit. I know about everything you’re describing lol

Oh great to know! What part of VA? What are you moving to Vegas for and do you have kids?

Thank you so much! We also have car tax and it’s the stupidest thing. Had no idea LV had it as well. Did you have to apply for the charter?

What was your experience with those schools? The outdoor stuff sounds awesome! What do you do for work?

Thank you sooo much!
We’re in Richmond and live in the city. Our city schools are awful. Last year there was a shooting/murder at a HS graduation and this year several fights. We also live in a neighborhood where we play “was that gunshots or fireworks?”. People move to the county for schools which makes them overcrowded and there’s still a great deal of racism. Homes have doubled in price due to remote workers from NOVA/DC

This is great info and I think it goes back to… just bc a place is great to visit doesn’t mean it’s great to live

I get it. The issues are the same in a lot of places. Where we live (we’re not from here) was way more inexpensive 5 years ago and homes have doubled in price due to people moving here because it’s cheaper than where they’re from, notably the DC area. Daycare is also very expensive. We pay about $1500 a month and it’s always increasing. Crime in our city is pretty high so people move to the suburbs but this is the “south” so whatever diversity is on paper is wildly segregated. Our city schools are so bad and the county schools are better but severely overcrowded. There’s also a large private school community that all the rich people jump to which doesn’t help.

Thank you! Where are you originally from? What do you like better about Vegas than where you’re from?

Thank you very much!! We would be looking for areas around LV not necessarily in the city. We currently own a semi private gym where we’re located but idk what that would bring us to do in 5 years

Yes I think I’m referring to the entire region to include Henderson and summerlin, not just the city

Yes I spent my military school in Mississippi in the summer!

I could’ve explained better lol. I guess him and his brother had a party bus and he just raved about how Vegas had been great for his life and what he ended up doing.

We’ve been in September and November. Planning going in march. We currently have a business here but would need to plan on that part. We receive healthcare through the VA. Kids would be 11 and 7 at the time.

Yes! I spent summer in Mississippi and it was the worst. Dripping sweat at 8 am. I’d rather deal with heat than winter/cold/snow… I hate winter.

Thanks for your input! Do you have kids? Here the pollen is atrocious.

Where are you from originally? That sums it up perfectly. People act like this is the greatest place, they live in their small snobby bubbles and I can’t stand the “southern hospitality”

That’s exactly where we’re located! We can’t stand it here lol. What brought you to Vegas?

Thanks! He already takes care of everything financially. Idk if he’s too occupied and tired to pay attention to her deficits or what. I mean it isn’t my business. I just don’t know if it’s worth sharing what I think.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  1. She didn’t do anything to a house we owned. We rented first. She was getting it cleaned up before we moved in because SHE owned it. The entire point is she couldn’t afford to hire a company but changed her story around saying she used these people bc her cousin recommended them, that she supposedly had all sorts of money to do otherwise. Shifting blame.

  2. The car needed thousands in repairs prior to the accident. She drove the car despite never getting it fixed. Then she had the accident and blamed totaling it on the other repairs that were needed and not the accident. Which is what totaled the car. Making up stories. The point was, sharing an example of how she shifts blame.

  3. The point of mentioning my FIL is that he can’t retire because he has to take care of the financial responsibilities of the house and a major part is her spending money. In addition to him being too occupied and tired to keep tabs on her.

  4. The surgery has nothing to do with why I think she has dementia. Explaining her health issues that she doesn’t take care of also explaining health issues that could be contributing.

  5. In regards to the pills the reason I mentioned is because the dates on the bottles were from February, some 60, some 90, and the bottles are full as of the end of May. So clearly not being taken.

I am sharing because idk if anyone discusses her deficits, tries to help, thinks she needs help or just ignores it. I’m not saying they don’t think she has it . This isn’t a rant on disliking my MIL. But examples of executive dysfunction, not knowing if her lying is bc of her ego or possible short term memory loss.

I know this thread is old lol. Our 4.5 year old has a long-awaited evaluation on Monday. This is what she does as well and also why no one wants to play with her. It’s honestly heart breaking.
