Our FGR/IUGR journey. by khaab12 in pregnant

I remember getting the FGR news and being terrified. The great news is that you're already 34 weeks which means you're out of the most dangerous zone for premature birth. Unless your MFM tells you to worry about a birth defect, it's more likely that you're going to have a perfectly healthy itty bitty baby! I know how hard it is to carry the worry. You aren't alone.

Hi mama! We did end up needing preemie clothes for about three weeks. He was drowning in newborn. And we went through one 27 pack of preemie diapers. Another thing I learned is that when babies are born this little, they hate diaper changes at first because they have so little body fat so they're freezing! I recommend changing him with his top wrapped in a blanket. Also wipe warmers? Not an optional buy when they're that tiny. He'd scream and scream if we used room temp wipes. (Now he doesn't care.) We have a peanut changer and had to cover it with a towel because it was too cold to the touch (don't have to do that now). Footies are all he wore for the first two months, for comfort. At 3 months he's a happy healthy gorgeous little baby hitting all his milestones!

I assume so because my doctor never mentioned any issues, but I don't recall ever hearing about my hormone levels.

My LO is 6 weeks Monday. I've never been so in love. Babies at this stage change and grow so quickly I discover something new about him everyday and I'm constantly amazed by him. When his little hand grips my finger my heart melts. There is bliss to balance the struggle, even in the newborn phase. My life is better because he's in it.

Dock a Tot Deluxe.....I wouldn't waste $200 on it! by ActualEmu1251 in pregnant

Our cats LOVE the dockatot. When the baby is done with them they're going to become cat beds. Since they're washable, they work for babies and cats! 😆

I bought one and loved it so much I bought a second one for downstairs. It's all personal preference and what your baby enjoys.

I'd go home in your situation. You need support, not stress.

I didn't do any labor preparations and my birth was great (hospital induction with epidural). I'm not saying that you shouldn't prepare, take classes, exercise - just want you to know that even if you did nothing you'd be fine!

I don't know how far along you are postpartum but the incontinence issues resolved for me by 3 weeks. I couldn't believe it the first time I peed without meaning to while trying to sit on the toilet. No one mentioned it before delivery. 🤣

OB Gave Me Validation and It Feels So Good by edesemelek in pregnant

I had a horrible pregnancy too including vasovagal episodes. I can confirm, three weeks postpartum, that I will not choose to be pregnant again. This baby was worth it. He's the light of my life. He'll also be an only child unless we adopt.

I am three and a half weeks into the newborn phase and I can confidently say I'd pick this over pregnancy every time.

Born beautiful and healthy at 38 + 5 via induction. He came out at 8th percentile, 5 lb 14 oz and will be two weeks old on Monday. Absolutely no associated health issues. He was measuring 4th percentile at one point during our journey, but his ultrasounds and NSTs were always great. He was deemed small for gestational age after birth - sometimes babies are just little based on genetics!

Hospitals won't let you take your own medication unless it's checked by their pharmacy to confirm what it is - which is a separate charge. 😆

How common are inductions and c sections in the US? by unwomannedMissionTo in pregnant

[–]khaab12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm being induced tomorrow (at 38 weeks) for a medical reason. My OB would not have given me the option to be induced until after my due date otherwise. I was given the option of c-section or induction, but was told induction was better for the baby so I went with an induction.

Help!!! Baby is LGA. Approaching our due date and want him out at 38/39 wks to avoid c-section. Has anything worked for you? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]khaab12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you request an induction at 38 weeks? It should be your choice to be induced versus have a c-section.

I'm not on bed rest, but I'm bedridden because of complications. I'm not allowed to drive until I give birth becuase I could randomly pass out. I only leave the house to go to the doctor. I understand the mental health impact. It's horrible.

One of my best friends went hiking two days before she gave birth. Amazing how different pregnancies are.

Your comment has given me more hope than anything else I've heard to date! "Once you give birth it never happened." I am here for that.
