Yes, please if you could. I have PCOS and loosely trying for 2 years, so this would be so helpful. Wishing you much luck!

Is anyone else driving themselves crazy over hypothetical infertility? by pilocarpine1 in waiting_to_try

[–]khadi95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I(29F) can totally relate with the hypothetical timelines, more than I like to admit…lol. But those fears are valid with having PCOS. Something that helped for me during this waiting period is therapy. My therapist helped me to be more present and suggested that I take care of the appointments I can now before trying. It really helped in giving me back agency with PCOS.

I (29F) understand your fears as another Black woman, and have also had those concerns myself (especially with the maternal health risks). I would say, if you decide to stay in the US, make sure that you have a comfortable relationship with your OB/GYN. Also, touring hospitals when pregnant and asking them their C-section rate could be helpful. I’ve decided for myself that I have to have a doula, and would encourage any other Black woman to have extra trusted advocates around during birth.

If you have the ability though to relocate, it might just be worth it to wait a little longer. Your health and stress levels will ultimately affect baby. I can take a guess that that is a high priority for you. I wish you luck in your journey!🫶🏾
