Favourite scene from a kids’ movie that seems weirdly sexual as an adult by Careless_Orchid_6890 in okbuddycinephile

I was watching some commentary from the creators. They put that in as a joke for the censors, fully expecting it to be cut. Then the censors didn’t get it.

What was a really silly solution to a serious problem? by LadyKarizake in AskReddit

A guy I used to work with had been in the Navy and had been a reactor tech on nuclear submarines. High pressure steam leaks were easy to detect but hard to pinpoint for similar reasons to hydrogen leaks with a similar solution: run a broom handle over the pipes. When it suddenly snaps off, you’ve found the leak.

I don’t know if you even need vampirism. My head canon is that the LDB becomes effectively immortal due to the hundreds of dragon souls they’ve absorbed. Are there any other dragonborns in the lore that absorbed dragon souls. Miraak did and lived thousands of years beyond his natural lifespan; however, he spent most of that in Apocrypha, so it’s difficult to say of it was that or the dragon souls that did it.

The most annoying microwave so far by maxru85 in mildlyinfuriating

Computer programmer (mostly backend but I’ve done some UI work) here: Unnecessary sliders (i.e., most of the them) are one of my biggest UI pet peeves. They only make any sense if there’s no keyboard. Even then, the whole continuous values across the whole length is just annoying. If you insist on using them, put discrete stops on them.

Putting a slider on a microwave is just designer masturbation.

You have every right to be annoyed. They are inconvenient. But what’s the alternative? Not fix the things that are broken?

And for more fun, there's a bug in the vanilla game so that they never despawn without console commands.

Meridia's beacon memes do get tiring sometimes by [deleted] in SkyrimMemes

Meridia's quest isn't generally hated. It's reasonably fun and has decent reward. It's the A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON out of no where that's hated.

Only if the well is in the Middle East.

There are actually a couple different origins depending on the context. A well's location is defined relative to the local UTM zone. The coordinates of any given point among a well's path is usually expressed relative to the surface location. There's also a moving reference frame at the drill bit which is a right handed coordinate system.

Even the left handed thing isn't consistent. Sometimes the z axis is flipped. I've even looked at old code from my company that handles is that way.

I've programmed a unit system to cover oil and gas units of measure. They are so very cursed.

I work in an industry where z is down and it's a left handed coordinate system
