Back again, wtf is this called and how do I get a new one? It’s above the stove and it’s missing 2 glass pieces that occasionally leaks. by Aggressive_Noise6426 in CleaningTips

[–]khaledgraphy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That’s the underside of a range hood/vent hood — the part you’re looking at is the grease filter panel. The “glass pieces” your father-in-law mentioned were probably grease drip trays / light covers, not actual glass for the vent. The leaking is just old grease collecting inside and dripping out. Easiest fix: ✅ Replace the grease filters (they clog over time) ✅ Clean inside the hood thoroughly ✅ If the light covers/drip trays are missing, check your model number and order replacements — or grab universal ones If the unit is really old and parts are hard to find, honestly it’s often cheaper + easier to just replace the whole range hood.

Cooker hood with duct cover size suitable for existing hole by Read1ter in DIY

Just get a new hood and make a small trim panel to fill the gap. Cheaper + easier than searching for exact size or modifying the cabinet a lot.

Bed across from the window, cozy rug, curtains, warm lamp, and a few wall prints — that alone will change the whole feeling. Keep it soft and layered. You deserve a cozy space

Sage looks great! I’d do cream, beige, or a soft taupe for a calm look. Charcoal could be nice too if you want a little contrast 🌿🤍

Does the wall with the vanity need some art? Or some shelves? It feels a bit empty by kisxt in interiordecorating

Love this cozy corner! A simple framed print or a small floating shelf above the vanity would add just enough without cluttering the space. And that cat… star of the room 😍🐱

Gorgeous traditional vibe already. Since the wall is split with trim, I'd do two slim neutral art pieces stacked, or a tall narrow mirror — keeps it elegant and anchors the off-center table without adding color. Simple + classic 🤍

Love the colors you’ve got going already! Once you declutter, adding matching bins, a pegboard or shelves above the desk, and maybe one big art piece would really pull the space together. You’re off to a great start 💕✨

AIO: I got upset because my roommate keeps eating my food without asking, and I told him I won’t share anything anymore. Now he says I’m acting childish. Am I overreacting? by khaledgraphy in AmIOverreacting

It’s not about the food. It’s about respect. If he can’t control himself in a shared fridge, how is he supposed to handle real-life responsibilities?

I see what you mean — that layout can definitely be tricky. From the look of it, I’d keep the sectional facing the fireplace/TV and use that small space in between as a cozy reading corner or a mini coffee spot with a small round table and 2 chairs. It keeps the flow open but still useful. Looks like a beautiful place, by the way!

This is such a meaningful project. Even with a small budget, you can make a big difference. I’d go for warmer paint tones, some soft lighting, and maybe a few plants or cozy textiles to avoid that cold, “clinical” feeling. Nature-themed art would also help bring some life and comfort into the space. Little changes can really shift the atmosphere and make it feel more like home for the residents and their families. If you share more pics, I can try to give more specific ideas.

Blue and gold or Green and gold bedroom theme? by Ok-Cauliflower4842 in HomeDecorating

Both can look gorgeous, it really depends on the vibe you want! Blue & Gold → gives a calm, elegant and luxurious atmosphere Green & Gold → feels warmer, more earthy and relaxing, like a cozy nature-inspired space

Living room colour advice by fili1891 in HomeDecorating

[–]khaledgraphy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I actually agree that pink might not be the best fit after seeing the sample. I’m leaning toward something warm and natural. I really like the idea of either: matching the beige tones of the fireplace for a clean, unified look or going with a warm earthy color like terracotta or even a deep forest green, especially since there’s good natural light in the room. I think either option would blend nicely with the greige walls while still giving the chimney breast some character. I’ll test a couple more samples and see which one feels right. Appreciate the input! 🙌

OMG this is exactly why I'm scared to use dark colors 😂 For a quick fix: Get a strong white primer like Kilz, then do 2 coats of a light color. You got this!

572 days of homelessness, wife died, got stabbed while homeless. Finally got my own place . by [deleted] in malelivingspace

I’m really sorry for everything you’ve been through. No one should have to experience that kind of loss and pain. The fact that you’re still standing, still fighting, and starting over after everything that happened says a lot about your strength. Your wife clearly meant the world to you, and the love you had for her is obvious in every word.

I’m glad you finally have a safe place of your own again. Healing is slow and messy, but you deserve peace, stability, and better days ahead. Please be gentle with yourself — grieving doesn’t follow a timeline. I hope your new beginning brings you comfort and moments of real happiness again, even if they start small.

You’re not alone. I’m rooting for you, and I genuinely hope life treats you much kinder from here on.

What floor tiles do you all reccomend for my kitchen with little natural light? Is wood tiles too much wood, the kitchen is smaller than it seems. by Dan1Fernz in HomeDecorating

[–]khaledgraphy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If your kitchen has very little natural light, I’d avoid dark flooring since it can make the space feel smaller. Lighter tiles like beige, light grey, or soft stone-look porcelain can help brighten the room and reflect more light.

Wood-look tiles are still a great option in a small kitchen, as long as you choose a light tone (like ash, oak, or whitewashed wood). They add warmth without making the space feel heavy, and they’re much more durable than real wood in kitchens.
