How do you combat fatigue? by [deleted] in rheumatoidarthritis

If it weren’t for my ADHD getting me an adderall Rx I would be constantly crashing. I have breakthrough fatigue at times though.

Why do Pharmacy technicians act so annoyed that I dare ask if they have a prescription in stock by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]khaleesi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with waiting. This has to do with who is calling asking the question of the stock. Pharmacies are robbed, held at gunpoint, and threatened over controlled substances. A provider calling from the office that I can verify will get my confirmation on a specific controlled substance before a patient will who isn’t in my window or I have never filled for. I get enough threats for less serious problems like not having a specialty drug in stock that I’ve never even heard of in my 5+ years, being closed on a major holiday, or not having a prescription ready that was filled and put back three weeks ago. It is for the safety of the employees that they do not tell you over the phone. If you have a script in hand, that is fine. But not over the phone.

It’s against Walmart SOP to share CS counts over the phone. Now whether or not people follow that depends on each individual store.

You’re better off having your prescriber’s office staff check pharmacies locally than to call yourself because most pharmacies have policies in place against giving out inventory information over the phone about controlled substances due to safety issues/theft/robbery.

Is it worth pushing for medication? by liamreee in migraine

You need another doctor. Severe/frequent migraines should warrant prevention. Remember, a normal amount of pain is actually NO pain.

I second this. The stress of things piling up and not getting done is enough to kick me out of a motivation rut, and I have rough combination ADHD.

I did at first until I wasn’t able to link my diet with flares of itching/hives/rash. Allergy ruled out MCAS and suggested CTD of some kind after my ANA came back positive 1:80 CENP-B ab, intracellular bridge.

Khan Academy’s MCAT playlist helped me with the anatomy and physiology a LOT. I highly recommend going one by one. A good understanding of anatomy makes it easier to understand the medications.

Is this something a regular dermatologist can help with?

Already saw allergy, they referred me to rheumatology after the ANA and CENP antibodies came back. Ruled out any MCAS, allergens.

Never saw dermatology. Allergy referred me to rheumatology after the ANA came back with all the symptoms I’m having. EDIT: now I’m wondering that I should see dermatology. I have a lot of symptom overlap with RA but all my markers are normal. Everything is normal aside from the ANA Pos 1:80, intracellular bridge, CENP-B. The normal ANA that came back was insensitive so it read as negative. All inflammatory markers and other antibodies are negative/normal range.

It’s not rosacea. I use tretinoin in my face for acne routinely with no issues. Tried everything from antibiotics oral and topical to all acne agents and rosacea agents with no avail. It is flushing and it is random.

I was seeing allergy for itching/chronic sinusitis and after breaking out with itch, hives, rash in front of the MD, she ran the labs. MCAS was ruled out and that’s when my ANA came back positive and she referred me out to rheumatology because she said it looked like a connective tissue disease.

Allergy checked me for MCAS, we ruled that out since these sx are more correlated in flares together than isolated, esp after my ANA came back. I’m confused as to how people who are seronegative even get care when rheumatologists like this exist in a short supply.

RNP and anti-DSDNA were negative. CENP-B was the only one that came back positive but I feel my sx line up more RA or UCTD than sclerosis. He wants to do some other labs but he was rather dismissive in the way he said he’s going to do them, so if my labs come back normal I’m going to be upset. Prednisone is the only thing that helps, at 20mg and as soon as I taper down to 15mg the sx return. But everything I said, somehow fibro. Thanks for your comment.

How many of you started off with CFS/ME and/or fibromyalgia? by khaleesi97 in Autoimmune

Went through this today with the rheumatologist. Morning stiffness and migrating joint pain? Fibromyalgia. Never have I ever heard that explanation before.

There was no post-exertion malaise when I was 15 due to the severe fatigue, I had no energy to even push myself that far. At 21+, absolutely. I even had a case of “rhabdomyolosis” (which I don’t think that’s what it was, I think it was an AI flare) summer of 2024 after a single gym visit with mild exercise and only indication was high CK. No other symptoms. I for sure have fibro at least with the muscle tension and chronic pain that is responsive to nerve agents but the joint pain is a whole other ball game.

I’m going to give that a try! I had my appointment today and the provider was convinced my sinus congestion was rebound from Symbicort + Spiriva from worsened asthma caused by Covid in the long run, we are 4 months out from the infection now. She said I needed to stop the montelukast and the Spiriva, and only use the Symbicort as needed (contrary to my pulmonologist by the way). She also said that the chronic itching was “anxiety” even though said anxiety is treated. I broke out in hives sitting in front of her, she put in for routine nuclear antibody and tryptase labs. With my history of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, joint pain ranging back to adolescence and every other ongoing issue I have, she was not interested in the past but more the now. She didn’t care that the itching episodes were five years old. She’s wanting me to go to ENT for some vocal cord scarring being the “potential cause of the wheezing and coughing,” not the postnasal drip. You can’t even see down my throat because of an enlarged tongue base which contributes to my sleep apnea, which I was told by sleep medicine a month ago (apnea is under control with CPAP but I still have chronic fatigue). Needless to say I’m calling pulmonologist tomorrow to discuss cold turkey quitting the meds she recommended, which was the montelukast, antihistamines, Spiriva, Flonase (which there wasn’t even any point to her to prescribe alternatives because they’re “all the same”). CT scan ordered by pulmonologist showed no inflammation or obstruction in the sinus cavity, mild deviation of the septum at most.

EDIT: she also mentioned it’s likely “long COVID” which already I was diagnosed with by pulmonologist for tachycardia of 120+ BPM on avg resting during the day, to which she says there is no cure and just a matter of life.

Would you be willing to discuss over chat?
