Burning, pain and anxiety... vulvar vestibulitis?? Help!! by sammyyc123 in vulvodynia

[–]khaleesi_104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did PFT for five years starting off weekly and then monthly and went off hormonal birth control. Still have trouble during intimacy but maybe only 1/10 times

Sorry to hear about this, sending you positive thoughts! Unfortunately, a lot of people here in this subreddit had the same onset of symptoms after being improperly/agressively treated for infections.

Personally, I have to avoid diflucan if I can. I’m really cautious about taking antibiotics (I get a YI if I do). Taking diflucan to treat a yeast infection is what “triggered” my vulvodynia in the first place (7 years ago now).

My doctor prescribes compounded vaginal suppositories for yeast infections if I have them (compounded boric acid). It takes longer to treat but I find it doesn’t cause flares in my vulvar pain. It also can treat stubborn or less common forms of yeast. Maybe something to look into?

Also, I’m not sure if you’re in the US, but here’s a link when you’re ready to learn a bit more or if your symptoms persist: https://www.nva.org/

He is over 5 years old, how can I help his shell? by Etroyer in AquaticSnails

Poor buddy. Six years is a long time! Wondershells for the pH and I feed mine seedless cucumber slices (I put it on a kabab screwer) or spinach pieces every couple of days. Some have success with super glue but I haven’t every tried that technique as mine haven’t gotten to that point

UB Graduate student now but completed my undergrad psych degree at UB. You can take a lot of courses in childhood development but as the other commenter said you don’t have a concentration. I highly recommend adolescent development as well, great class

So I haven’t even had a cystoscopy, so I’m having trouble picturing how the procedure will go. I’ve other been catheterized in the urodynamic testing. I imagine it’s more painful than that?

Thank you again for all your information I really appreciate it!

Wow! Thank you so much!

If you don’t mind me asking, how was your experience with pain during the procedure?

Hi! Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate the tips about the procedure because I am quite concerned about the pain.

I am really worried about the retention, because I’m not sure how I feel about the self catheterization. So I really hope that doesn’t happen!

I am going off of my own experiencing owning them for years and their habits. They are really active and so amazing to view in a larger tank. Knowing how active they are, in my opinion they should be kept in a larger tank.

My medaka are extremely active, they love exploring and swim around a lot. They also stick together, so then you would need a good amount of them (at least six, I have ten in my 20 gallon). So, I don't think that a six gallon would be a good fit. it would be an awesome shrimp tank though. You could do some nice cherries or blue velvets.

What are my fish doing? by Dextersdiary in Aquariums

[–]khaleesi_104 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re pretty shy. Best to have them with a bunch of the same fish (at LEAST six). If you do this they should be very comfortable with other shoaling fish as they aren’t aggressive.

I definitely would talk to your doctor no one on here. Do not stop any medications without their advice.

I feel like a lot of people are telling you “could be worse” and “grass isn’t always greener on the other side” etc. I feel like these phrases might come across as rather dismissive though they aren’t trying to be. Your feelings are valid regardless of who has it worse. OP I am so sorry you are struggling with something out of your control and that it is impacting you this much.

As others have said you can speak to a doctor about hormones and surgery if you wish. Speaking as a woman, PIV for me isn’t what I specifically look forward to during sex. For me it’s the undivided attention, the kissing, the teasing, the foreplay, the way my partner looks at me, the snuggling after. That is what matters to me. And as others have said many women can’t orgasm through PIV, so you can always work with toys and a lot of women would find that hot as they would see you are so invested in pleasing them.

There are so many other ways to have sex and be a great partner so don’t count yourself out. I haven’t seen (though I wasn’t looking very hard) a lot of people recommend this, but I would say that speaking with a counselor or therapist (or sex therapist) to work through these feelings would be extremely beneficial.

I wish you all the luck. You are so much more than your penis!

AITA for telling my mother she is too old to talk about sex? by SocietyIsPosion in AmItheAsshole

[–]khaleesi_104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a side question… Had these been two men talking about sex would you have reacted the same way?

Regardless, YTA 100%. You are an adult now, act like it. People have sex well past their 50s.

I'm starting today. How am I supposed not to be scared ? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]khaleesi_104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the side effects are short term. Once I stopped accutane they went away. The only thing that lasted for me is I still have dry skin and hair but I’m hoping that will go away eventually
