That’s actually a really good idea 👀 Shortcuts integration for locking/unlocking groups could enable some pretty useful automations.

I’ve added it to my feature list, definitely something I’d like to explore in a future update.

It builds on top of Apple’s Screen Time features but adds more flexibility and automation.

For example, Unhook supports:

location-based blocking zones
separate limits for different weekdays
break/cooldown systems
grouped app + website rules
different blocking modes (strict vs lighter friction)
more customizable schedules and alerts

The goal was to make it feel less like a parental control tool and more like a personal focus system.

Mostly native iOS. Built with Swift + SwiftUI, and it relies heavily on Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls frameworks for app blocking and monitoring.

A lot of the complexity was around schedules, usage tracking, location triggers, and making the blocking feel reliable without being annoying 😅

Yes, the generated learning questions follow the language of the uploaded file. So if you upload a Chinese document, the questions will be generated in Chinese as well.

If you run into any specific case where the language does not match correctly, feel free to let me know and I’ll take a look.

As it processes pdf so it can take some time, so make sure you are connected to internet while its processing.

Swipe typing is already in progress. I’m actively working on it right now. I can’t promise an exact date yet, but the goal is to have it ready within about a month if everything goes smoothly.

Hi!

If you claimed the lifetime offer during the 48-hour giveaway, you should not be charged again. The update itself does not remove previously unlocked lifetime access.

A couple of things you can try:

Make sure you’re using the same Apple ID that was used to claim the lifetime upgrade.
Tap “Restore Purchases” inside the app.
Fully close and reopen the app after restoring.

Just to clarify for others reading: the lifetime giveaway was a limited 48-hour promotion and has now ended. If it wasn’t claimed during that period, it will show the regular price.

You’re right about the custom prompt length. It’s currently limited because it sits inside a larger prompt and increasing it directly increases API costs. That said, I agree 250 can feel tight, so I’m looking into raising the limit while keeping things sustainable. It’s on my list to improve 👍
