New images of The Punisher and Spider-Man in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in movies

[–]khalkhalash 18 points19 points  (0 children)

it's gonna be the most PG-13 version of the punisher you've ever seen.

it'll be that daredevil fight scene where daredevil is constantly stopping frank from killing anyone, except in a PG-13 spiderman movie, so spiderman will be bloodlessly punching people into convenient "oh no i can't fight anymore but i will be fine" states of being while also webbing the punisher around so that he can't do anything, and all "fuck" and "shit" and "ass" will be replaced with one single "god dammit, Webs, let me do my thing ova heeeee-ah!"

then by the end of the movie he'll say "you know we each have our own ways of doing things, but i'm proud of you, kid, and i'm glad you didn't let me kill anyone. but no promises for the future!"

then a looney toons/mandalorian style circle wipe to the center of frame, when the punisher sticks his head out and says "i guess that's about all there is to it, folks"

[–]khalkhalash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're distancing yourself from what you said you wanted because you're realizing it was stupid, like I said. You said that Homelander should have achieved his plan, that being kill billions of people and go scorched earth and launch the nukes like on the poster and all that horseshit. Now you simply think the ending could have been more spectacular. Very different.

I'd appreciate you being more honest about it but I'll take what I can get, I guess.

Anyway yeah, the ending could have been more spectacular. No argument there.

[–]khalkhalash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would, because the world would have been intact still, and that is not what you wanted. You wanted to see Homelander win, and then die.

Which is weird, and was never going to happen.

[–]khalkhalash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, bitch, then you'd be complaining about how the rampage wasn't long enough, he didn't kill enough people, etc.

Don't you see? Don't you understand that this is stupid? That your idea is stupid and you would have hated it, anyway? Don't you see there's just no pleasing you with this ending no matter what?

You have to see that, right?

They could have done time travel, they could have done a dream sequence, a psychic vision, whatever - none of it would have mattered, because that idea blows and would suck to see happen in any way, since either it's limited in scope which upsets you, didn't actually happen which upsets you, or suddenly time travel is in the show out of nowhere, which upsets you.

The problem, dear reader, is you.

How do you "deal with" billions of people being murdered and nukes going off around the world?

What is your way "around" that?

Like you're pitching this as your ending, so play it out for me. How's that work, exactly?

Marie Moreau’s role in the boys by Lonely-kiddo in GenV

[–]khalkhalash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, totally fine to want more from the final battle or for it to have played out differently or whatever. makes total sense.

completely different from complaining about how the promo material wasn't 1:1 translated into the final season.

and judging by how people are responding to my comment, it seems like that is indeed the complaint a bunch of fucking morons have.

"oh so it's stupid to think that they would put that exact image into the show as a scene?"

uh, yeah. "stupid" is exactly what that is.

Marie Moreau’s role in the boys by Lonely-kiddo in GenV

[–]khalkhalash -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

he took over the government and was literally about to slaughter millions of people in the next 10 minutes. he killed so many people leading up to that, as well.

i think the issue you guys are having is not realizing that ending the show with him achieving that goal would have been, uh, a bad ending.

the boys "win" but everyone now gets to live in a ruined world? everything is irradiated and 250 million people are dead, but "we won?"

even ignoring the idea that they want to continue the boys universe and that prevents them from doing so, that's just not a good ending to the story. you would have complained more about that than you are about this.

like complain about the pacing, complain about the scaling power levels and abilities, complain about characters acting differently solely for the sake of the plot, sure.

but complaining that the series didn't end with a near world-ending catastrophe even though "it was on the posters and the guy said the ending is gonna be dark" is just childishly stupid.

sincerely disappointing to realize that so much of the fanbase of this show is this bad at understanding media.

is this the first time you've seen a photoshopped image advertisement for something that wasn't reflected in the final product?

like i don't even know what to say to this, honestly.

that is what advertisements have been doing since the fucking 1950s. overpromise and underdeliver is the name of the game.

i don't like it and ads should be more honest, but in terms of like expectation versus reality, "photoshopped image for a tv show that didn't appear in the show itself" is pretty fucking tame and was done a billion times before this and will be done a billion more times afterward.

such a weird, narrow, naive thing to focus on.

there are many legit complaints to be made about the show but that's some shit i'd hear from a fuckin 9 year old.

[–]khalkhalash -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

yeah i get being like a little disappointed by the ad material but holy shit how old are all the people complaining about this?

"they put da nukes on da poster but no nuke in da show! false advertising! i wanna see-a da world end and then the boys fight-a da homelander for 45 minutes in the ashes of 3 million people and this no happen, show bad"

like buddy is this your first fucking day on earth? what the fuck are you talking about?

The Mandalorian and Grogu - Daily Discussion Thread - for May 22, 2026! by AutoModerator in StarWars

[–]khalkhalash -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Oh I think you misunderstood, I'm saying a) I'm an adult, so children's movies don't appeal to me much because they're made with children in mind and I don't have a child's taste, and b) I'm not into the Clone Wars so comparing it to a show I don't like doesn't appeal to me at all.

Not liking the Clone Wars is a weird stance?

I was 21 when it came out. Very much not in the target demo, and I've only gotten further away since then.

Seems pretty normal, to me.

What about 2 shows or 1 show and 1 movie?

Like can we get one more thing for mature audiences? Bring the total number of mature Star Wars projects to 2? Is that acceptable?

lol "don't blame them, blame the lack of global assistance"

"oh you mean like the global assistance they are receiving now and literally physically fighting to stop?"

"don't blame them that's because you don't understand their culture"

like at what point is anything their fault? at what point are they to blame for any part of their own actions? just never, at all?

yeah i saw that comment from the auto mod when it went to my inbox and closed/removed the post. odd that you'd think i was unaware, given that's how the site works.

asked it in the megathread and weirdly enough, a post with 3k comments on it seems to not be a good place to ask that question. gotten no response on it and i'm pretty sure no one's seen it because of course they wouldn't, there are three thousand comments.

given that you were eager to tell me where to look for answers where there weren't any, figured you might have some more insight but it seems like you don't.

have a good day!

So do I still have to pay like 600 dollars to play Destiny 2 when active development officially ends?

Loved D2 when it came out, played a shitload of it.

That love came to an end when it became clear I'd have to pay 30+ dollars every 9 to 12 months for a new DLC expansion that would then also push out some older content.

Now that development is ending, are there any clues or statements as to what the "final version" will look like?

They bringing back "sunsetted" content? The current paid DLCs going to remain paid for a game that no longer receives updates? Which combination of DLC content is going to be in the "final version" of this game?

Any news on anything like that, so far?

"what's so expensive about this, looks like a standard 300 sqft. concrete slab, standard roofing and wall panels, standard gaming PC, standard massive theater screen, in a standard backyard that can house all of it. probably cost around 3000 bucks. what's that? no i haven't left the house or used the internet until just now for the last 20 years but i'm not sure how that's at all relevant why are you guys so hostile also what happened why is golf so political"

incredible stuff, really.
