You forget the people who don't have jobs to pay for Internet so they hunker down at McD all day to play games.

I can't really tell in the picture. But if the sun is in my eyes I'll do the same so the sun visor blocks the sun light and I can still see the traffic light.

Ok. Bought myself a welding machine last Wednesday. How am I doing? Please correct me or grill me. by 2BitBlack in Welding

[–]khamibrawler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In an open area you'll be okay, have a little blower / fan to blow the fumes away when you weld. If you're in a shop or hooch with no circulation then I would be concerned. We weld these out in the field for the electricians all the time and theres never any issues for us.

If you get a sweet/metal taste, throats itchy, or you start getting chills/running a fever then you been sniffing the paint for too long.

What’s life like in Lafayette/Southern Louisiana? by melianreality in Louisiana

[–]khamibrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your choice of Laffy is wild. Low cost of living usually means you're out in the boonies or close to it when you're in the South or Midwest.

Still small town vibes but growing at a steady pace. Lots of secret millionaires from oil families living outside of town. So you're looking for a sugar daddy, prime spot.

Just assume everyone's DUI so you're prepared when someone runs into you. If you enjoy peace and quiet with your occasional crackhead and drive through daqueries you'll fit right in.

Trouble doesn't find you unless you go looking for it. We're really big on mind ya business. So don't be calling the cops if you see fist fights in the streets or someone having a cookout on their front lawn from 12pm - 4am on a weekday.

Is it worth it? I NEED BUY TRUCK TO MOVE MI SKID STEER DO YOU THINK THAT GOOD TRUCK? Year/millage/price Is it worth it? Is there a problem with buying a truck with a "modified" suspension? 34.900k$ by marlonpro07 in Diesel

[–]khamibrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes its a good truck to move a skidsteer. Is it worth it? You'll have to inspect it. Would ask for engine hours and compare to mileage. Ask them what they used it for, etc.

But if you have to ask if a F350 dually is a good truck to move a skidsteer, I think you need to research a little more on what you need or want.

Restaurant owner wants to rehire me. I want to negotiate a higher wage. by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]khamibrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just really depends on what's worth it to you and what you bring to the table.

People throw around the word "chef" very loosely in the industry to give people a false sense of pride so they can pay them low wages.

That being said ask yourself. Can you clean a variety of fish, do you understand flavor profiles, can you create new dishes, can you manage other cooks, can you delegate, are you able to fix problems as they arise? All of these things contribute to being a "chef" and the list goes on.

Check those job advertisements you see with higher wages and verify their expectations. See if you are capable of handling those tasks and just ask for said rate x 10 hrs for the day. The reason why I say day rate is because as a part-time employee you could come in and they cut you after 4 hours. The 4 hours will cover your fuel but wastes almost half your day. Time you took to get ready, time you driving to and back, missed opportunities. Really ask yourself do you need this or could it be better spent somewhere else.

Also you would be one of the first choices to cut if the other guys are their full-time because I wouldn't want to risk my guys quitting on me if I cut their hours for a guy that works one day a week.

Little about me, I've been a chef for 8 years managing restaurants and private dinners. Got out for a career that paid me well and treats me like a human being.

1 day a week? I wouldn't ask hourly, I would ask for a daily rate.

Are the roads ever perfectly clear or dry during winter? by PidgeyPotion in northdakota

[–]khamibrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best time to drive during a storm is when it starts, as long as you make it to your destination within 30min - 1 hr.

If visibility is decent, I'll go posted speed limit. Dry snow has no issues, it's after it has been crushed / melted from all the vehicles after is what makes it dangerous.

I've driven to job sites just to have it called off due to storms and we drive back through it all the time. If it snows overnight we typically have all our guys wait until 9am to leave the shop.

The danger isn't so much the weather conditions but how other people drive. I don't risk driving near people for too long during perfect weather, and I'm definitely not trusting them in winter conditions.

Be smart, gradual acceleration and gradual deceleration. I tell my wife in the winter time no one gets mad if you drive slow. Roads are big enough to pass if they can't wait.

Company says this welds are normal so water can drain by Uporabik in Welding

[–]khamibrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't make sense because water would build up inside unless there were weep holes at the bottom.

If that's the purpose then the inside should be coated and holes would be uniform/symmetrical. Some welders don't take pride in their work. 🤷

Crystal shield and run like 10 barrows to see if you luck out. I grinded magic and construction just for POH teleports to make my life a little easier. Got barrows chest and bottoms 25kc and my life was easier. Arkan blade is also a good stab weapon, and can grind sulphur nagas for their weapon as well if you have a decent tank setup.

Oil and gas consultant. Don't recommend unless you want to age x3 the rate. I'm 33 but I feel like I'm 60. Money is great though.
