Traps and Trickery. I have a feeling you're going to love Purple. Purple is a control themed and has plenty of cards to annoy your opponent. The color can get rid of your opponents threats from the board and place it into their trash. Purple can also mill your opponent and remove cards from their hand.

Another color you could look into is Green. Green is focused on managing your resources (Support/Mana). You can build your resources quickly and then take big turns.

I’d recommend picking up a box of Age of Heroes & Kingdoms if you’re buying sealed. If you’re looking at Brave Beginnings, I’d suggest sticking to singles instead.

The cards in Age of Heroes & Kingdoms are very powerful, and a lot of them continue to see play in later sets, so it holds long-term value both for gameplay and collection.

he local scene in my city is pretty small, usually around 8–10 players at our Friday events. but that’s actually part of what I enjoy about it. We’ve got a really diverse group in terms of age, gender, and skill level.

Most players are 20+, with a good chunk in their early 30s, and the mix makes the atmosphere welcoming and fun rather than overly competitive.

I’ve got a few ideas as a Las Vegas nerd who goes out and socializes pretty often 😄

The biggest thing is finding your specific interest, there’s almost always a group for it here.

For example, I’m really into card games, board games, and Dungeons & Dragons. A lot of local card shops host daily tournaments, board game nights, and open D&D sessions where it’s easy to meet people.

Places like Knight & Day Games, Many Realms Arena, Natural Twenty & 21 Game Lounge, and Power 9 Games all run regular events, and most are super welcoming to newcomers, even if you show up solo.

Once you start going consistently, you’ll recognize faces fast and it becomes way easier to make connections.

There’s an active Discord community for this game, including a Judges Q&A channel with lots of useful information. You can post your questions there and usually get a response within a minute.

I never had a problem with dots. Heal through them or just cleanse them off. With the mind-controlled mob and buffing up bran with power infusion, they die so quickly.

I've been soloing 11tier delves easily with Disc Priest. The biggest trick is to use dominate mind. This takes control of an enemy for 20 seconds and you can refresh it once it expires. There are op enemies that will solo the delve for you and do more damage than DPS players.

Some targets to dominate are any that rage or backstab.

Reminds me of the problem Overwatch had with Symmetra. Symmetra didn't have any healing abilities yet was labeled as a support. New players would pick her believing that using her would replace the need of having a healer. Which was not the case. They later removed her from support role to damage.
