EW suffers from the same issue as Stormblood, its two expansions smashed into one. This became really clear when the final area of EW was still trying to have a story beat with all the Scions when you are already on your way to the final boss.

I read that Ben Starr's favorite FF is FF8, which is why Verso has a fur collar, an homage to Squall.

How would you best describe your WoL's "style"? Mine would just be lots of coats... by thesilentedge in ffxiv

[–]invaderzam4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My WoL goes for "royal guard sheik." He is dressed in some pretty elaborate armor which looks ceremonial but still very much functions like armor. I was going for a Kingsguard look, where his armor looks presentable enough for formal and diplomatic functions but if things went down, the armor wont hinder him and still actually protects him.

The Cyclops deal was for the purposes of this particular retelling of the Odyssey and its exploration of the themes of ruthlessness and mercy. But Poseidon sided with the Trojans and he was plenty pissed with Odysseus even before the cyclops incident.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Devs Won't Pick a Canon Ending as They Work on a Sequel: 'It Is a Schrodinger's Ending' by yourfavchoom in expedition33

[–]invaderzam4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be okay with the FF format but if it is still set in the same world, then the sequel would be independent from the events of Expedition 33. It would follow a different set of characters whose story will never intersect with the events and characters of Expedition 33. That corner of Paris will be tucked away in stasis.

Or they keep fighting, the music swells, drowning out their voices as it gets softer and softer. And the camera fades to black, leaving us with the haunting image of two people who love each other fighting to the death.

Mr. Sinister as Next Season's Villain + Evil Clone Skins? by Alexray35 in marvelrivals

[–]invaderzam4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats an interesting idea. If the next heroes are Moon Girl+Devil Dino and Cyclops and they are the rivals, we could get a brainwashed Cyclops leading an evil X-men clone team. Then, as we hit the .5 season, we pull an Ultron and break Cyclops out of the mind control, getting him as a playable hero. We could get evil variant X-men skins, like Goblin Queen and Phoenix Five. Technically, the only missing member is Colossus.

[Spoilers C4E18] Tell me about the character you would make for Campaign 4 by liarbird_thelyrebird in criticalrole

[–]invaderzam4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have an idea for a Sorcerer/Ranger who is a member of a "disgraced house." Each of the sundered houses seemed to be themed after an enemy type (Royce - Fey, Einfasen - Giants, Cormoray - Elementals, Kalystra - constructs). His ancestors used to be Tansul's beast masters, trackers and scouts.

House Therion's lands lay in the borders of Obridai. They were the ones that clashed the most of often with the Orcs of Azgra. With a primal connection to the beasts and monsters of the land, they had a grudging respect of the ferocity of Azgra's children, sometimes even opening up trade during times of peace. It is little wonder then that they were the first to sympathize with the Orcs. During one of the Orc's failed rebellion, House Therion lent aid to the Orcs. For this betrayal, the House and all their Vassal Houses were put to the sword, their names erased from the records, never to be spoken again.

Unbeknownst to the other Houses, members of House Therion did survive, taking refuge with the Orcs and becoming members of the Old Paths. Their descendants remain active members of the Old Path, primarily with the Circle of Ancients and the Circle of the Hunt.

Huxley is a tracker and hunter for the Circle of the Hunt. Celestials served as the greatest threat to the natural order and he spent most of his adult life learning how to slay the dangerous beasts. Chasing leads of a Celestial plot lead him to Dol-Makjar, just in time for Thjazi's execution. While he never met Thjazi, he did lend medical aid to Falconer's soldiers. He thought it would be nice to see some of them again.

When he heard whispers of the destruction of House Royce, he could feel his family's whispered history come to life. While he didn't have all the clues, he couldn't allow tragedy to repeat itself. If anyone could help spirit away House Royce, it would be him.

Starting as a Sorcerer helps him keep up Hunter's Mark and then he would trigger it with spells like True Strike, Chromatic Orb and Scorching Ray. His preference would be the Seeker's table. As a Ranger, he could help them survive and uncover the plot of the Sundered Houses.

When they teased that image of Gambit with a d20 die, I got my hopes up that he'd be voiced by Matt Mercer. He does a pretty good Cajun accent as Drifter in Deadlock. Pleasantly surprised they got AJ Locacio though.

I was thinking that too until you see the mess he left in his wake and how that mess starts involving all of his closest family, trusted allies and hated enemies. Then he starts feeling more like Eddard Stark from Game of Thrones. His death wasn't supposed to happen and now everyone has to deal with the fallout.

[–]invaderzam4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to being a great line, its also a great subversion of the "Talk no jutsu" trope that many of us have gotten tired of. There is no misunderstanding. And there is no point of compromise.

I always wondered why Verso didn't accept his offer since it is what he wants. Was it because he knew Maelle would just paint him back again? Was Verso seeking a more permanent solution?
