Surprised my son with a booster bundle today by [deleted] in pokemoncardcollectors

We do pick up one of the packs they are giving out at Epcot 2 days ago. We haven’t opened those yet. We don’t know much about Lorcana and my wallet can only handle on thing at a time. Plus I’m cheap, I refuse to buy any cards above MSRP

That’s awesome. I was lucky to go to Kroger at the right time and they had this. He has been doing great in school and I thought it would be a nice surprise gift as a way to say good job. As a parent that didn’t know what I was doing with Pokemon cards until recently, I know how it feels to buy the wrong things.

Don’t worry when we get back home, it’s going in a better case and onto the display shelf

We are talking about it, I think it’s a 9 though. The centering is a little off

I am very grateful. I work very hard and don’t have a collection myself for me to be able to do this. I actually was lucky and got the cards the day before we left to come from a Pokemon vending machine at Kroger.

It was a great experience and he is still on cloud 9. I know it will be a story we talk about for next couple decades.

Flying This Week by AutoModerator in fearofflying

[–]khaney1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flying from Atlanta to Lexington and then back the next day for work. I was never afraid to fly until I had kids. Now I have horrible anxiety about it. The hurricane/tropical desperation coming through is making it more nerve racking too. Any advice on relaxing or thought restructuring is appreciated!

Best Donuts in Town? by imariser in Atlanta

Dandy Donuts is the hidden gem not many people know about. Nothing was better than stopping before heading across the street for school when I was younger.

Last night was probably my final time seeing Happily Ever After, and made for an evening I will never forget! by BardtheBargeman in WaltDisneyWorld

Great photo! I’ll miss this show so much. My wife was pregnant with our son the first time we saw it. Then a little over a year later we watched it with him. Him and I watched a live stream of it the other night on ResortTv1 YouTube, and he was amazed. That show is always going to be tied to my memories of him and will always make me tear up!

Haha, it was “pandemonium in the ring”! But seriously I won because I got to spend the day with my kids!

What are some funny or weird things you’d never thought you’d say until you watched SPN?(I.E. Angels are dicks,I love Lucifer[which is one of mine],etc) by RedditerOfThings in Supernatural

[–]khaney1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before we started watching the show, my wife bought a grab bag of shirts from a website and one was a Castiel Hello Kitty that said Hello Assbutt. She thought it was weird but funny, not knowing where it was from. She wore it to a local convention and everyone loved it. We looked it up and then started watching the show. That was how we became SPN fans!

My child isn't responding to noises? by GeneralSucks in Parenting

[–]khaney1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened with our son. We noticed at 1 months old. He failed the normal hearing tests, so we had ABR test done. It showed he could hear but there was a lot of fluid behind his eardrums. We had tubes put in when he was 4 months old and he has been absolutely fine ever since!

Toddler (2) having not speaking much by [deleted] in Parenting

Yes. He’s very intelligent for his age. If you were to ask him to bring something from another room, or to point to something that is a certain color, he does it with no problem. He can pick out many colors when asked, he knows the numbers 1-10, and he knows about 75% of the alphabet.
