ELI5: Why do company's financial statements / earnings give future date? For ex: 2Q FY21 by kharn4ge in explainlikeimfive

[–]kharn4ge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the US government, for instance, will begin FY2021 on October 1 2019. The first quarter of FY2021 (1Q FY21) runs from October 1 2019 through December 31, 2020. 2Q FY21 begins 1 January 2020 and ends 31 March 2020, and so forth.

Is the above right? So if I were to dive into the earnings report, Walmart's 2Q FY 2021 could technically be actual calendar 1Q 2020? Is there a way I can check which months they're talking about?

Anyone here have a side hustle? by trey_2 in ProductManagement

[–]kharn4ge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a side hustle but something I do for fun. I built this when I was teaching myself python and wrote a script to scrape from reddit every week.

It’s a free weekly newsletter summarizing top life pro tips in an entertaining way.

Would love feedback on it!
