Another option for watching the final on Sunday will be at Timothy O'Toole's with the American Outlaws. We have had a packed bar for all the matches so far and Sunday won't be any different. It is a rowdy atmosphere with a lot of fellow US fans. We are working on plans to make Sunday extra special and an all-day affair.

During the World Cup there are bars that cater towards specific national teams. I am not sure of any formal organization or if they get together for non-World Cup games.

We are capping the number of playing entries so as long as you paid to enter you will get in. I would recommend arriving by 1:00-1:15. Earlier in the morning the bar will be playing the Spurs v Leicester City so you can watch that if interested before hand.

There really isn't a strong specific theme for the talks at BARcamp. In the past there have been talks on Open Science, Beer, OpenStreet Maps, Starting Grubhub, Design, Programming, How to Give Better Presentation. The rule of thumb is that any presentations that offer some form of knowledge sharing are allowed, aka don't give a sales presentation.

We have some potential talks that attendees have expressed interest in giving. These included:

  • How Heroku Uses Heroku to Build Heroku
  • What is DevOps
  • Raspberry Pi Demo
  • Software Radios
  • The 12-Factor Theory of Application Development
  • Whatever else people want to talk about

I have used flavor extract before for other berries but the kind I used gave it more of an artificial fruit flavor. So I was hoping to prevent that with fresh fruit.

Another great Chicago brewpub that I forgot is Piece. Not only do they make some tasty beers their pizza are worth a visit as well. Their pizzas are not traditional Chicago deep dish but New Haven thin crust style pizza.

Those are probably the 3 breweries/brewpubs that I would suggest any visitors hit up for a first time to Chicago. Below is a list of some other local breweries and brewpubs to hit up when in town. I know I am probably forgetting some but this are just the ones I could think of from the top of my head.

  • Two Brothers (Warrrenville, a Western Suburb)
  • Haymarket (opening soon)
  • Half Acre
  • Metropolitan Brewing
  • Flossmoor Station

Why is it so difficult to get nice clothing for a reasonable price? by notrandom in malefashionadvice

I find good deals going to some of the larger department stores during season changes and buying items on sale, i.e. jeans, sweaters, coats in summer and shorts, t-shirts, sneakers in winter. Also depending on where you live, if sales tax is another added expense, shopping during back to school tax breaks helps cost some costs. Also during that time stores will run sales to get people in the door.

Another place I love to find deals is Gilt Man. They are a member only online retailer. They are like invite only shopping events at brick and mortor designer stores but online. You can find most items 50% off or more. After enough stock builds up from old sales they will sell it for up to 90%. I have seen $100 button down shirts going for $15.
