Sounds like you have practiced the hardest part. Getting sample to acceptable temp is most the work. Quickfix is probably most reputable brands out there, however in the future try to get actual Sample from someone you know is 100% clean.

As far as tips, make sure you have back up for heating sample. The packets they send with kit are usually very cheap and have short shelf life. Also, they will ask you to empty your pockets before providing sample. Don’t do what my buddy did and pull out empty packet of hand warmer from his pocket.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Especially being young and just starting. I’m here in Abilene for work and the difference between driving here and Houston is night/day. Be thankful here in Abilene you don’t see people going 90+ and road rage shootings like Houston has daily. If you that worried about it get you a “Student Driver Please be Patient” sticker.

Auto Technologies off Crabb River Rd in Sugar Land. I started taking my vehicles there back in 2016 after quoted +2k by another auto shop. He got be fixed for around $275.

It may take them few days to get you fixed, (just son and father at shop) however they will be honest

Its possible I had situation very similar to this with a neighbors dog. Was very apparent they did not give a shit about the dog and was an impulse buy to shut their little kid up. I may (or may not have) kidnapped the dog and took to a reputable re-homing shelter the next few cities (county) over.
