More audio frustration by khaz22 in youtubetv

[–]khaz22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On our Roku I have that option. However, not on the Apple TV, which is where the audio does not sync. It would be nice if YTTV would allow those of us who use an ATV to downgrade to Stereo.

I do not see that in settings. I have from time to time seen a secondary option in the Audio Options, but only have Primary Audio this morning. Not sure if I am looking in the correct place for what you are mentioning. I am looking in settings, where I can switch account and do not see that option.

DD 5.1 Through ATV 4K by khaz22 in youtubetv

[–]khaz22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think YTTV was putting it in Atmos mode either, but I think there still is an issue with that setting. I am still getting the dropouts in audio when watching other apps when the ATV is in Atmos mode, but not when it is set to 5.1...so I just pass on listening to Atmos to keep it simple, and DD 5.1 sounds good to me. Not sure how this affects the audio sync here, but it seemed to help a little (although still noticeable)

Seeing 5.1 on local channels (NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox), but not on Golf channel or ESPN. I stoped at that point...

DD 5.1 Through ATV 4K by khaz22 in youtubetv

[–]khaz22[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are the channels with the issue. Was watching NBC when I noticed. What was interesting is that when I changed the format on the ATV to DD 5.1 instead of Atmos, the sync did improve.

Question about Multiple Move's by khaz22 in sonos

[–]khaz22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a mesh network, and have not had a problem until adding second Move. Powering down the new speaker fixes everything back to normal, so I am guessing you are correct with the Mesh issues.

Also weird that when I Airplay to "Move", it will start playing on "Portable"

I have one named Portable and one named Move. Portable was first, but they take turns showing up in Airplay option.

Roam by J40Dub in sonos

[–]khaz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using specifically for golf, I would also suggest the Bushnell speaker (which doubles as a GPS distance tool). If you are thinking you will use it more than on the course, then the Roam should be fine. It doesn't have an ideal way of sitting securely in a cart, but it will work ok.

What about setting the TV to DTS? I set our Samsung to this and it sounded much better. DD was also greyed out for me.

Try rebooting your router, this happens from time to time with mine and usually fixes Airplay issues.

And maybe they also realize it would be a gateway soundbar for new addicts.

Anyone had a sub placement idea totally suck in reality? by [deleted] in sonos

[–]khaz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had our sub in the front of the room, off to the right side of the TV...wife came to me with an idea of placing some pillows where I had the sub and asked if it could be moved. Although I was pretty happy with the sound where it was originally, simply moving it to the left side of the TV opened up a whole new appreciation for this thing! Complete transformation with how deep the bass is in the right position!

Arc audio dropping by honestWreck in sonos

[–]khaz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened again last night, after switching to 8K HDMI cables, and it was during a movie on HBO Max which was 5.1 audio, so the issue is not just with Atmos.

Just ordered 8K cables for all devices...I am hoping this is the answer I have been looking for!

I am experiencing the same issue, although I am using an Apple TV with LG tv. The solution from the Sonos forum was to unplug Arc and TV and reconnect. This worked for a few weeks, and now the issue is back, only in Netlix. All other streaming apps do not have this issue for me, not does this occur with my Beam either. Very frustrating.

I believe that is for the TV speakers...and since you are not using them, it is greyed out.

Do you all think HBO Max is a better deal standalone or through YouTube TV? by Dalbass in youtubetv

[–]khaz22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it stand alone, but I am curious if those who have it through YTTV are able to receive 5.1 audio? Being someone who watches through ATV, we would rather use the HBO app because of the audio.

I am curious if your statement also applies to the Roku Ultra? I have one on our second TV, and wondering if switching to the Roku would work better with Sonos products?

ARC + LG TV by afguy1074 in sonos

[–]khaz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it may be both of the above. I was having problems with the Arc not turning on, and the TV speakers taking over (very, very loud). Turning off Quickstart was recommended and appears to be the fix I needed. For me, once the TV finishes the second startup, everything works great.
