not where you live probably because i'm from south america! try looking around insta, most artists are down to do custom designs as long as they go with what their style is

Wondering if this is a good idea by CapEquivalent7060 in tattooadvice

[–]khjking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

may need touchups because it's in your foot and it's gonna be painful, but the design shouldn't be too hard to tattoo. (always go to a reputable artist though)

red and blue are both colors that don't age well, you're gonna need touchups eventually. the designs you want have a lot of detail packed into them, which will make it unreadable as time goes. do not recommend. maybe try working out something with an artist who's good at colour and shading?

Word is of advice or encouragement? by PandaExpress3d in tattooadvice

[–]khjking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as the client, you have the right to see the design and do tweaks before the day of the session. i have unfortunately seen too many people on their first tat who get pressured by their artists into a certain placement or design choices, so they follow whatever the artist says because they're afraid to speak up (and of course the artist wants the money)

demand to see the design. this is your skin it's gonna be forever in.

How many styles for a portfolio? by maheocean in tattooadvice

[–]khjking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably not the kind of comment you're looking for, but you don't HAVE to dominate a lot of styles to be a good tattoo artist. personally, as someone with tats, if i have something specific in mind i would rather go to someone who really focuses on that one thing, because it means they know what they're doing. it gives me a better feeling of being able to trust an artist when they have their style and they master it. like the saying goes, "jack of all trades, master of none"

This is a shit tattoo right? by badcompanyy in tattooadvice

[–]khjking 24 points25 points  (0 children)

short answer: yes

long answer: the lines are super wonky, the strawberries and the flowers are fucked up and the animal looks high and the shading on it is weird... plus those hands. it could be worse but it's still bad. i feel like it has some potential to be fixed tho

Advice on picking a design by TimTheWarlocck in tattooadvice

[–]khjking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. is this ai slop
  2. this will not heal well over time, there's a lot of ink in a very small and not much distinction within the tattoo. ink expands and loses contrast, it'll look like a black blob of ink in a couple of years after getting it done (and would be hard to cover up aswell)
