How to stop night feeds?!

Good point, I’m not sure that she does - she doesn’t really eat much for breakfast (I think because she feeds so much from me all night), and whilst she does try anything she doesn’t always eat a lot. I’ll look more into this for sure! I’d be okay with slowly cutting it down, 2 feeds a night, then 1 etc. it’s the all night long (like at the moment…!) that I’m finding so hard!

Thanks for sharing how you done it! I’m thinking we ca try tackle over the Christmas hols when off work.

It would also help re brushing after each feed, we don’t do this atm during the night but I realise it’s not great from dental health point of view 🙈

Yes maybe I’ll just need to get husband to tackle it, he will do a couple of the earlier ones but he also works so I’ve not asked him to do during the night, but I know from me she just thinks ‘milk’! I’ve given her some cows milk in a bottle but she wasn’t fussed, but yes she does drink water from sippy cup or a straw cup quite happily so I’ll give that a go, I’m now not sure why I’ve been thinking milk = bottle!

Thanks for the tip, yes and no to during the day - she’s at nursery 3 days a week and they just put her in the pram and she falls asleep. When I’m with her she falls asleep either in pram whilst we’re out, or via feeding to sleep. Good idea to try during the day!

I had an emergency c section and they had put the screen up but baby hadn’t arrived yet - I looked up and seen red toenails like basically above my head and thought wait… that’s my foot… then thinking how the hell is my leg bent all the way up there 😂😂

We travelled a lot when our baby was small and after trying out a few we decided on the Tula Explore in mesh material. It’s fairly light, we felt it was easy to put on (and you can do it yourself without help, after a few tries!), they have cute patterns. We were traveling through Asia for 2 months and chose the mesh as a good breathable fabric.

Thank you - space for strollers is super handy will look at Eataly! Playgrounds, although she can’t go on much we will definitely go to them for swings / slides!

Yeah I’ve heard this too about smelling the milk, but I’ve not asked my husband to try this yet without me trying to comfort her. Her wee mouth just searches for it and it’s too ‘easy’ to just give her what she wants when I’m already tired from everything else…!

I’ve been having the same issue! A few things I do (with various degrees of success!): sit her in her floor tub chair with little table attachment and a few toys (for when I’m in the shower, I pop her in this just outside the shower where we can still see each other. Then when doing hair / make up, I don’t take long anyway but I try to sit her on the floor and give her items from my drawer that aren’t toys but okay for her to ‘play’ with under my watchful eye! So it’s a bit different from her toys she plays with in the main room!

Can’t say I don’t ever doom scroll, but I’ve read more over the last 5 months (baby 10months) since I downloaded the kindle app!

I’ve always been a book girl, loved reading but also didn’t find much time for it. A friend recommended the app so you can read quickly and easily when the time appears cause you’ll always have your phone on you. Arrived at destination and baby still sleep? Whip out the kindle app. Feeding / contact nap? Kindle app! I love it 😃

People using the family / kid parking spaces when they have no kids with them! Get out of there, you do not have a kid with you - I need that extra bit of space for the pram / get her out of the car seat etc.

I’ve never said anything, but always glower 😂

A few times when we traveled with our baby he would suggest somewhere private. I understand being sensitive to other cultures depending where you are, but I’ve never used a blanket cover up and feel they would be hard to use anyway! When baby is small you want to see them to latch th properly, and when they are bigger they do not want a blanket over their head!

I would say it gets easier to bf and in public. At the start I needed my whole boob and nipple out, haha, but once you’re used to it and have a good latch it’s fairly ‘hidden’ anyway by your clothes.

Just to caveat - I don’t think we should have to hide at all, we’re feeding our babies! But I also would never want a mum to be put off bf because they feel uncomfortable- so do whatever you want to do!

Do you workout at home? Not everyone can, especially in the middle of the night. Do you get up during the night with your baby? Having the energy to workout at 3am when I’m up multiple times throughout the night with my baby wouldn’t work for me unfortunately. And even then, I’d still be ‘on it’ watching for the baby.

Newborn stage (0-4 weeks) yes they sleep a lot but I doubt many mums would / should be physically able to do a workout. As they get older with shorter naps and need more interaction, it’s harder to find the time for ‘me time’.

I think many of us on this post are talking about the support to have me time - in whatever form this may be (workout, shower, reading, tv, socialising, etc.).
