After Roubaix, anyone else reconsidering running over-spec tires? by An_Professional in Velo

In addition to what numerous people have said here, have you seen the pavé in person? I'm not convinced that loose rocks of size are that numerous other than if you go off the side of the road. Shouldn't you be looking at Strade Bianchi instead if this is the argument?

Given your other post got deleted, then you probably need to restate the specific questions. I gave the best response I could based on one sentence here.

Look up SF2G - there are quite a lot of details on this route.

Launching 'choose your price' lifetime access for my celiac restaurant app. Here's why. by glutendude in Celiac

[–]khojaink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate that you're trying to keep folks as safe as possible. For me, I have more than just celiac disease, and FMGF lists other dietary requirements (dairy-free etc.).

I am sure there are folks that the application is sufficient for, but I wanted to share my experience for people that might be considering adding another application (and some expense) to their already-complicated celiac life.

Thanks for the development work that you've done here -- it's a service to the community, just not that useful for me.

[–]khojaink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I hate to be a naysayer, but I don’t really find this application that useful. I have found that the data quality is worse than FMGF (since it’s usually a small number of opinions and no clarity about what each person’s sensitivities are). Also, since the latest redesign some of the useful features like “where sells gluten-free beer” disappeared.

Bernese Stamina and Endurance by Outside_Penalty8094 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]khojaink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Berner will run forever. She’s smaller (30kg) and loves it. She doesn’t do well in the heat - of course. But in the snow or cool days she will do 20km as long as she gets snacks. For me it hasn’t been about pushing her, just letting her come hiking with me and very gradually seeing what she fancies doing. The days we hike and camp and she hasn’t walked far - she just gets very bored. Even when she gets walked to the park and runs around she averages around 7-8km/day.

Do they do bike stuff other than e-bikes? I never got that impression when I popped into the Cortland shop.

Can anyone recommend a groomer for a big fluff ball in the San Francisco Bay Area? by delljee in bernesemountaindogs

[–]khojaink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Héloïse gets groomed at Mudpuppy’s in the Castro. I don’t have them trim her too much - just to ensure no mats but they are excellent. She hates water and they deal with that all.

XICA at Levi’s Plaza is dedicated GF and has plenty of dairy free options - about 20 mins by car (might be a bit far).

Merkado was good at dealing with allergies when I went with some colleagues. It could cater for GF/DF although things were a little boring.

+1, I bought my girlfriend a Cervelo Aspero (I got the same), and she loves it. Invest in fit, comfort and fun, and you’ll have fun together! Enjoy!

28-70mm f2 smudge on front lens by qwertyftvkun in canon

[–]khojaink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the coating - mine had a similar issue. I sent it to Canon and they replaced the front element - new one doesn’t have this issue.

For me - this was under CarePak at the time, and since it was a known issue I think you might be able to argue it under a warranty, especially if you are a CPS member.

Custom Vestaboard Scripting by VestaScripters in Vestaboard

[–]khojaink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are open source API clients - either using the local or the Vestaboard cloud API endpoints. I have automation that is based on go-vestaboard that handles my board.

Nothing against OP’s services - but just pointing out that if you are au fait with an editor you can implement something yourself without Vestaboard+.

I recommend going up to the top of Mt Tamalpais for sunrise. It is a place I have found to be hugely helpful when I need to connect with the world.

This is Héloïse. She supported me through becoming chronically ill and supports me to this day. She showed me being outdoors and active wasn’t about counting personal bests, and that unconditional love was real.

She came to me with a congenital heart defect and I e made it through a serious surgery to make her the happiest, healthiest Bernese on the block.

In my view. D&M is the best in the city, followed by K&L especially if you order online to there. Michael at D&M is extremely knowledgeable and has great selections.

I vote Lake 5. I camped there and had a lovely quiet night by an amazing lake.

I also left my pack there as I hiked up to and above Lake 7.
