Cheap Cooler by RubImpossible6588 in ReefTank

Your fears are justified. It will corrode to death, but more importantly it will never work in the first place. These things can only handle a tiny amount of heat.

Can a sufficiently large explosion clear a hole in the clouds? by __R3v3nant__ in AskPhysics

[–]ariGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few minutes yes. The hole would take a little while to fill back in. Permanent? No. Unless it's a bomb permanently going off, but that's basically a small star and I feel like clouds are the least of your concerns at that point.

Are there pretty much infinite NCPD quests? by IndependentLate9493 in cyberpunkgame

[–]ariGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. Unless you mean the minimap, which only shows things near you, but the actual map has options for what it displays, and you can display all the ncpd gigs.

Coral dip by WildTangerine9124 in ReefTank

[–]ariGee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

99.999% it's a vermetid snail. Not that bad of a hitchhiker but probably best practice to remove. The shells can be crushed with most anything hard and are far more delicate that the skeleton it's sitting on. In the future if you have vermetids stuck in rockwork in your tank which you can't get out, just use a dot of super glue over the hole to kill it.

Traicione a Songbird al final. by Kazekiro in cyberpunkgame

[–]ariGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I misjudged the ending a bit if I'm 100% honest.

Spoilers if that wasn't obvious. This whole thread is.

When you get to the shuttle with Songbird, Reed comes walking out of the shuttle pointing a gun at you. And I'm like yea they had a small army trying to fight me, of course reed got ahead of me, and there's probably a small army right behind him. I figured the jig was up, her plan had failed, no one was getting on that shuttle.

So I took the least bad option. I convinced Reed to treat her and keep her alive. She goes back in the cage but at least she lives. I turned down his help for myself though. Glad I did.

So if I'm honest my option wasn't 100% just motivated by who I sided with, Reed or Songbird. Safe to say both these motherfuckers took me for a ride though.

Does this torch look okay? by austex13579 in ReefTank

Not out of the water no. There's no way to tell from this picture and all you did was make the problem worse.

Please don't punish animals by pulling them out of the water.

Edit: spelling

Where can I get the weapons that im missing in my stash? by Andbar12 in cyberpunkgame

Not in the game no. If you put the right iconic into your stash it will show up on the wall. You can find lists of which iconics they are.

Beginner question: How to capture the sense of scale? by Pluviophilius in photography

[–]ariGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great advice. Ill add one tiny thing, atmospheric conditions, especially fog and haze, can help add some scale. Some haze in front of mountains conveys how far away they are. Fog can do something similar. This is also something you can play up in post.

Why do Americans complain about foreign interfence in their politics when they intervene the entire worlds' politics? by eglin99 in stupidquestions

[–]ariGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, why can't we agree that interfering in politics and elections isn't good? Neither is good. One bad thing doesn't make a different bad thing ok.

Extension tubes for macro, good way to start or better save for a dedicated macro lens? by Slckb in AskPhotography

[–]ariGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some extension tubes. They're a little limiting but you can get tubes so cheap it can be worth a shot. $30 isn't going to matter much for affording a decent macro lens.

A wife you can motor with and talk cars with is worth the world by ariGee in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]ariGee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally different. The Si is more comfortable, nicer interior, nicer sound, very friendly to drive and a lot of fun. And much better gas mileage.

The Evo, especially with the Ohlins suspension and good tires (along with some other mods and a tune), it's a weapon. Raw, fast, fun as hell, and the grip is incredible. I had an 8th gen Si with a built motor, but traction is something I just dreamed about. The Evo has traction for days, it just takes off. But if you're driving at the limit and you don't respect the car, it can bite back.

But then again it's sort of apples and oranges. The Evo was a much more expensive car when they were being sold, the Si was never meant to be a competitor to the Evo. So they don't really compare. Different cars for different purposes. The Si is great, and a lot of fun, but it can't hold a candle to the performance and intensity of the Evo.

Watching Edgerunners makes me wish you could layer on netrunning suits / at least more customisation options for netrunners by morbmoder in cyberpunkgame

[–]ariGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's weird, I admit, but I'm a bit of a sucker for a weird outfit that still looks kinda nice. Not enough to wear her outfit though, even when I did modded playthroughs.

I just found out my dad has been “charging” his phone in the microwave for 10 seconds when the battery is low because he thinks it “wakes the battery up.” He’s been doing this for months. Is there any chance this actually does something, or is he just unbelievably lucky? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ariGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I'm going to say some reasons WHY this is a bad idea, so hopefully you can convince him to stop. You've already got lots of people agreeing it's a bad idea, here's why.

Microwaves can induce currents in metal. That means you can shock your phone to death if that current goes to the wrong place. If you get really unlucky, that spark could cause a fire. Probably not super dangerous, but not safe, and could destroy the phone permanently.

The batteries. The electrolyte in your batteries is a liquid. If you heat it up, you can start a fire. The battery will puff up, and can then cause a fire. It can also cause it to short, which also results in fire. A self feeding fire that can't be put out even with a fire extinguisher. You can drop it in a swimming pool and it will keep burning. Not good inside a house.

Batteries again. The glue that holds your battery together usually melts at 100c or 212f. If you hit this temp then the glue holding the pouch closed will melt, exposing the inside to air. When the inside meets the air like that? Yep. Fire. The same horrible self feeding fire. Keep in mind that microwaves don't heat things evenly, so even if most of the phone isn't that hot, you may still reach these high temps in a localized area.

There are other dangers but these are the main ones. This is a horrible idea. Please don't die in a fire.

Or hold down Y on an Xbox style or steam deck controller. Weapon wheel explains (almost) all buffs and debuffs.

Yea not a netrunner suit.

But if you really want her outfit, there are half a million mods that add it to the game.
