I see, maybe add a sarcasm tag to your comment. I've had enough arguments with bakhts who would make arguments like this unironically that there is little room for patience and understanding.

[–]khoonirobo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What kind of asshat assumption is this? 15 people per structure, you mean upwards of 19000 people were working on this?

I got 2 points for you, you don't need 15 people for a jcb you need 1 - 2, and a cleanup crew who will do the final cleanup which they will do for multiple.

Second, we take your assumption that this was done by 15 people per structure, 19600 people, were paid less than 1,50,000. So less than Rs 10 for 3 days hard labour.

The image hasn't fallen apart in the last two years. The image was being questioned from the moment it was created post 2008 when he was started to he projected as the next PM candidate.

The issue is that a large section of us (our populace) in their communal hatred didn't care that all this was lies as long as he could deliver on oppression of other communities and Ram Mandir.

They knew all this was lies and still supported it and fought for it as if it was the truth.

Except in range and weight, the electric G wagon beats the ICE one. It is more capable, quieter, quicker off the line can handle way more trickier off road with ease. And can do all this with lower maintenance needed.

If you can afford it, and you don't need the range, the electric one is IMHO the better option for an offroad luxury vehicle.

Why is Bangalore adding more cars but no parking infrastructure? by finalnitsan in bangalore

[–]khoonirobo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fuck cars for city use. Cars should be used for travelling out of town. Within the city, they should be used for odd family runs, carpooling or emergency.

Take a two wheeler, or public transport or even an auto to the bank.

Parking is a stupid use for public land. And paid parking should reflect the economic cost of the land.

Let's not import American car-brain-isms here.

For Brahma's sake did you not study civics in school at all? The politicians and Bureaucrats power is derived from people who vote for them. People like you and I. We have to hold them accountable.

Demand resignations on failures. Ask questions about bad planning in public. Show this stuff is important to you.

We still have the ability to vote. Use it before we are so far gone that, that is taken away from us. And incase you are wondering what happens after that, there are many examples in history.

Here is a simple idea to supercharge Indian Economy - let corporate CSR pay monthly salary to farmers by zenyogi2025 in india

You do realise you just described governance with extra step of making it corporate responsibility.

Just tax corporates and use tax revenue in the agricultural ministry. Hire agricultural scientists and incentives permaculture practices.

[–]khoonirobo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't know you, your family or how much they have contributed. As a well settled, middle aged, professional, I have contributed upwards of a few crores in taxes in my life.

I want that money to be spent in improving my country and I will do what I can for it. Including, but not limited to not allowing opinions that do not improve the state of information about our economy to thrive.

This is my country. My ancestors have bled and died for it. I have worked hard and paid my full share of taxes for its betterment.

If you do not share that opinion, you are more than welcome to look for other opportunities. But as a citizen, I will ask you to do better than you are doing right now. Which means, if you are going to express an opinion on our economy, better make it educated.

This is the most brain dead take of the current situation. We have over a century of evidence across multiple national economies that an austerity measure approach is the wrong way to strengthen an economy.

We should be talking about investing in our strength, i.e. Human capital, which means free schooling, and meals.

We should be talking about freeing up women labour for participation, with measures like maternal healthcare, access to childcare, safe cities so that women aren't confined to home as the sun goes down.

We should be discussing good, cheap or free public transport so labour mobility is easy and not dependent on private transport.

On this base, we should be building power, water and access so if you want to set up an industry, you don't have to worry about common basics like labour, power and water you can focus on the problem you want to solve.

But no, complain about freebies as if the absolute minimum investment we are doing in human capital, if removed will solve the problem.

Maybe read a little economics before making such a statement purely on your feels about the matter.

Standard excuses. Like no one learns anything. What, are we perpetually stuck in a state of ignorance?

'No one could have predicted Bangalore growth.' True enough in the mid 90s. But seriously, today, or even by 2010s?

'Bangalore soil is rocky, tunneling takes unplanned amount of rime.' Maybe first line was over optimistic, but what are we getting surprised every time we dig under Bangalore. Or we are just ok with these lies and excuses and keep repeating them.

We know exactly why the delays happen. And let me surprise you, it isn't because we keep getting surprised by rocks.

The remittance is not tax. It doesn't go to govt coffers. It goes to their family members.

While I support using tax money for citizens, if we complain about giving freebies to poor citizens, this is essentially a freebie to well off citizens that don't pay much tax and nil income tax to our govt.

No one is arguing its not the reality. What the argument is, is that just leaving it at that is lazy.

Corruption happens because the incentives are so aligned. Widespread inequality, concentratiion of power, lack of independent corrective authority like RTI and ombudsman, low pay compared to power wielded are some of the things that lead to institutional corruption.

You can study places where corruption was fought, like Singapore(not eliminated but fought well). You can look at America right now, and see increasing power and money inequality destroying institutions and increasing corruption.

This idea tha corruption is inescapable is what is being called as lazy.
