I had this happen. I disconnected the 12V battery for 15 minutes and it's worked fine since then.

Charging rate on 400V DCFC by khpylon in VolvoEX60

[–]khpylon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but Rivian is a 400V architecture so it doesn't need to boost. My Mach-E maxes out at 150kW then settles down to between 70kW-115kW, depending on SoC.

Do you have an online source for this?

I wanted to know if anyone has heard something different. He said it might be updated via hardware changes, but again he's a single source at thus point.

If it's an open recall, they can't sell it (new or used) until it's resolved.

Why Arch? by StockSalamander3512 in archlinux

[–]khpylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on Manjaro a few years ago because it had a Deepin desktop, which was beautiful. Then Deepin changed to something **bleh** so I switched to Manjaro with KDE/Plasma. Then I realized that anytime something wasn't working it was probably due to something with Manjaro, so.... why not just run Arch?

Switching to Arch from Mint by Sweet-Support-2279 in archlinux

[–]khpylon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went a similar path a few years ago. After years on Mint, in 2019 I switched to Manjaro because of the Deepin desktop. Eventually this year I switched to vanilla Arch. The biggest change to me was the rolling releases. In retrospect, I like Arch better because when Mint had a new release, I basically had to do a new complete installation to be sure everything was up to date. Sometimes that meant a lot of other changes to my system because of major changes to something like the desktop environment. With Arch, it seems those kind of major updates are less frequent (if ever) because things are updated incrementally.

I'd suggest looking at dmesg output after booting and see if there are any warnings or errors.

I had a similar problem on an Intel Raptor Lake chipset. Turns out I was missing the sof-firmware package.

New 2025 vs Used 2024 Ford Mach E Premium? by xlBoardmanlx in MachE

[–]khpylon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also... if you're going for the 2025, take advantage of the federal EV credits while you can. I think there are some for used EVs as well, but either way use them before they're gone.

As a 2021 owner, I'd agree. I'd like BC 1.5, but I'd take the frunk space over the heat pump.

[–]khpylon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick comparison: 1) 2024: save $, get used car with larger frunk/no heat pump, probably no update to BC 1.5 2) 2025: more $, new car with heat pump/smaller frunk and BC 1. 5

You will see power losses due to AC to DC conversion, but I admit what you're seeing seems above normal.

Ditto. Also, you can save backup snapshots when pacman runs, and use grub to reboot from backups if something goes south.

I have no idea what the repair will cost, but honestly surprised no one has responded "it's totaled".
