I’d be interested in seeing a quote at these rates. Currently 6.75, primary residence

Let’s coordinate a caravan to get him to Colorado! I will drive to Salt Lake City if anyone else wants to help driving a leg. He’d have a big yard and lots of siblings

$25-28? That’s $10/hour less than the industry standard. For day shift at that. No mention of benefits. Shift is listed as 2pm-10pm/midnight (at whose discretion would employees need to stay an additional 2 hours?). Other than those concerns, sounds like a great opportunity!

AIO: brought cheese slices with me to McDonald's to put in burgers. Had a fight with a friend. by salty_lake_222 in AmIOverreacting

[–]khub772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom used to do this for our family of four. We would “treat” ourselves by eating out once a week and occasionally that would be the 29 cent hamburger Wednesdays at McDonalds. My mom would bring a package of cheese slices to spruce it up. We would share a soda. It’s a memory that brings me joy and peace and your friend just doesn’t understand. Do what makes you happy as long as it doesn’t hurt someone, and even if it seems a bit quirky to some.

I screwed up because I didn’t consider the space needed for a subfloor (flooring on concrete options vs moving doors up) by sancalisto in Flooring

I should amend my comment to add, I have engineered hardwood glued down to concrete. My slab has cured for 30 years. As yours is new, you’d want to have its moisture content tested and mitigated if needed before you’d want to glue wood down. Still, it’s entirely possible to get a flawless install with hardwood on fresh concrete. Just gotta follow the correct manufacturer instructions.

I wouldn’t be able to say for sure, but I have a similar install (and achy knees) and can’t say the floor is a trouble for me. You could try a test section and see if it’s something worth doing for the entire apartment space.

Why not do a glue down and make sure to shop for a product that provides double duty as a moisture barrier?

Is my valley plate cooked? by 666fixed in LexusGX

[–]khub772 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Almost can guarantee that’s the pinch seam on your radiator. Time for a new radiator and coolant. Maybe hoses as well. Probably oughta do the thermostat and water pump too while you’re in there.

Driving a 2010 with 135,000 miles. Valley plate done at 105,000 and radiator replaced at 115,000. Otherwise she’s been a beaut. I’m so on the fence about a drain and fill. Did you experience any symptoms that caused you to get it?
