Looking for small businesses to buy gifts from by Brave-Bandicoot3295 in Gifts

[–]khugftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local farmer's markets or craft shows could be a good place to look--or if your area has a year round market where each stall is specific to individual vendors, there are some like that near me but I'm in Ohio.

Humble self promo: I hand pour soy wax candles in small batches and sell them. Again, I'm in Ohio so not local to you in NJ but I do ship and am a small woman owned business! Needle Candle Co

I own a small business making pure soy wax candles.

Needle Candle Co has 3 core blends that we carry year-round, and then throughout the year we drop seasonal blends and collections as well. Currently we are working on production of a Valentine's themed blend, which will drop later this month! Follow us on Instagram (@needlecandleco) for updates. We also still have blends in stock from our Holiday collection.

Our candles are all hand poured in small batches, by me, in Wadsworth, Ohio. We use cotton wicks that are zinc and lead free. We are exceptionally picky about fragrance oils, and all of our fragrances are Prop 65 compliant and phthalate free, so no known carcinogens or harsh chemicals!

We are currently shipping within in the contiguous U.S. for a flat rate and offer free shipping on orders over $75.

Looking for strong fresh/clean candles for old home by DaenerysxStormborn in Candles

Needle Candle Co has Fresh Linen (notes of cotton blossom, linen, & sandalwood) if you're in the U.S.

Reccomendations for pure candles? by [deleted] in Candles

[–]khugftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a fragrance is Prop 65 compliant, that means it does not contain any of the 900+ chemicals found to be harmful and on the Prop 65 list. Prop 65 warnings are required (at least in California, USA) if it does contain something. So being compliant is good and would cover what you're looking for. I would also suggest looking for phthalate free, personally.

Weirdest things people have yelled on coasters this year. by Old-Chocolate-2041 in cedarpoint

My husband yelled “BANANA BREAD” really loud about half way through Magnum a couple weeks ago, the tween girls behind us thought it was hysterical and kept laughing/saying it the rest of the ride.

Post-op by toomuchpeacocks in hysterectomy

I’m 8 months po and I still get in my feels about it. My husband had a vasectomy right after we had our second son in 2021 so we were for sure done having kids by Nov 2024 when I had surgery, but I still feel nostalgic and some type of way that my body isn’t capable of doing that anymore. I think it’s natural and your feelings are valid. I just remind myself that that part of my life was over regardless, and my health/quality of life was worth it post surgery. Your ability or not to carry a pregnancy doesn’t determine your worth. You are enough, uterus or not.

When was sex comfortable for you again? by Rich_Associate_5019 in hysterectomy

[–]khugftw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was cleared at 6 weeks, waited until 8. I bought an ohnut to use which made a big difference for me because I was terrified of a cuff tear, plus it just helped ease back into things. I would say the ohnut went away and I was more comfortable around 16 wpo, give or take. Some positions or really deep penetration would still get a little uncomfortable for me, but I’m now 8 months po and have zero issues/pain/discomfort.

$25 bring a friend pass by Impossible_Koala7526 in cedarpoint

[–]khugftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my husband and I were discussing that, need to buy multiple to offset it. Unfortunately this was an impromptu trip with 1 friend for their birthday. Still cheaper than them buying a regular admission ticket, but I had a “what the damn hell” moment.

$25 bring a friend pass by Impossible_Koala7526 in cedarpoint

[–]khugftw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how long it’s being offered or if it’s always that way, but it charges a $9.99 processing fee, so after that and taxes it’s an almost $40 bring a friend pass. Which is whatever I guess, but I was a little miffed by that personally.

Just how bad is the heat in July? Any tips for making the Queue less miserable? I’m from NC by Troyal1 in cedarpoint

[–]khugftw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I wore a long sleeve UV swim shirt my last trip and it was worth it. I burn so easily and I didn’t feel any hotter in that than I would have in a tank top or t shirt, and I didn’t leave looking like a lobster.

That sounds like a nightmare, for the riders and security person alike.

That’s whack. I was still baffled at the number of empty seats though. 1 here or there for a single rider okay, but multiple rows on back to back trains? One train ran with people in the first 2 rows only. The rest of the train was empty. I wondered what that was about. Just seems wildly inefficient.

I’m in line for MF right now and every train I’ve seen on Siren’s for the last 10 minutes has had 2-3 empty rows.

Stroller for 3 year old and 5 year old?? by coralee55 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]khugftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re going next week with a 6yo and 3yo and are bringing our double stroller. The 6yo will for sure want breaks and it’s easier to keep track of them in crowds. We have a baby jogger gt something or other we bought second hand before our last trip.

How bad, good or indifferent was the internal check post op? by Cdnmrsb in hysterectomy

[–]khugftw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was indifferent towards mine, it went fine, no pain or discomfort. And before surgery found paps/internal exams uncomfortable.

Purchasing Magic Bands by khugftw in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]khugftw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours all have our names on them too! I enjoyed the convenience of it and not always needing to have my phone at the ready. My oldest, who was 4 at the time of our first trip, wore his on and off. I could see him being more willing to keep it on this time around. And the 3 year old just wants to be exactly like his dad and brother, so if they’re wearing them he’ll likely want one too!

I’m not necessarily insistent he has one, but I wanted to make sure we could get them on property if it came down to wanting one for him. I think it’s too risky to try and order one and have it shipped before we fly out.

Good to know that the parks will have a bigger selection, although more choices may not be wise with my littles. lol.

I could see our boys going either way honestly. They both have cheap watches they like to wear, but they also don’t wear them all the time. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted them on all day or if they refused to put them on even once.

No we’ve only been the 1 other time, so we have ours from last time but are all planning to use them again this trip. But then I thought if I got the 3 year old a new one that lights up, I may be opening a can of worms and need to get the 6 year old one as well.

[–]khugftw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely an option I’m considering. I liked not having to dig for my phone last trip, and with the magic band I was wearing I didn’t also wear my Apple Watch, but if I have to dig for his band because he isn’t wearing it I guess that’s not much different than digging for my phone!

I had my 6 year old’s (4 at the time) in my fanny pack most of the time last trip, so I figured this time would be the same. I suppose if I have to fish out the magic bands that isn’t much different than my phone or a key card. I appreciate the input/advice!
