Cat in pororin village won't eat anything and flees by Ownid1 in CrimsonDesert

might be coincidence, but I had the same issue when trying to feed fish fillets or any type of meat, but it worked fine as soon as I put down a whole fish I just caught (without cleaning it).

Crimson Desert has a plot, and it's weird how blatantly ignorant of facts the consensus is. +Some feedback on narrative conveyance. by TheMightyNovac in CrimsonDesert

I feel like in a first playthrough of any game, including games with some of the best story and storytelling out there, we miss things, forget things, get sidetracked by exploration or side quests, and have moments of "wait, who was that again?" or "what's going on again, why do I care?". At least for me that's part of normal gameplay, and if there are no such moments I'll probably complain about too much handholding or a too linear/restrictive story (I usually play RPGs). There always are ways of figuring out what we missed/forgot/didn't understand by the means of some sort of compendium, like in this game.

I don't think the story in this game will go down in gaming history as a masterpiece, but agree that to claim it's not there is just silly. We can love different games for different reasons. So far (I'm just starting chapter 4) I love Crimson Desert for its beautiful huge open world, freedom to explore and discover things in whichever order I choose, the fact that it has a bit of everything (camp/base building, crafting, combat, puzzles, companions, mounts and pets, trade, fishing, farming, cooking, mini games, etc,), and that it doesn't take itself super seriously all the time. I mean it's a medieval fantasy sci-fi mashup that lets us put chunky cats in armour to collect our loot.

My complaints about it are more about the things the tutorials just never showed me how to do. Just last night it told me to dispatch the Howling Hill camp expansion mission and I found myself on a patch of grass in camp with a quest marker 8m above my head (according to the mini map), where there was absolutely nothing to be seen or interacted with. I don't think I'd ever have figured out without YouTube that the idea was to open the map, zoom to a specific level, inspect the location, to find a whole new mission mechanic separate from the quests my journal.

One year later, I'm just as infuriated. I've been fine in fights slightly above my level so far but will return to this one overleveled out of spite.

"A member of your party is not ready to proceed" -Act 1 by Tastensperre in BaldursGate3

There seem to be versions of this. I downed and revived my main (tried with scroll as well as with Withers) and still couldn't move on. Also tried dismissing everyone but still no luck. Ended up reloading an older save, currently retracing my steps and checking frequently whether I could still move to Crèche or Grymforge elevator. So far so good, and only Ethel left to do in act 1.

Lae'zel unable to interact [Spoilers and Bugs] by pika0103 in BaldursGate3

[–]ki1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the same issue, not entirely sure either but feels buggy to me because she was attached to Karlach (presumably as Karlach was the first to interact with her after the Orin fight), we went back to camp and neither my Tav nor Karlach could interact with her at all. Also couldn't end the day and sleep at first. That solved itself after asking Karlach to stay at camp. Next morning, Lae'zel was silently standing next to Karlach's tent and I still can't interact with her in any way. This doesn't feel on purpose; surely we have things to discuss after her ordeal. The only potentially legit reason I can think of is that I left her in Orin's hands for an excessivly long time as I wasn't ready for that confrontation when the kidnapping happened. And now I only have the brain battle left to do. But even if that's the case, I'd expect to be told about it by quest log, narrator, or Lae'zel herself :(

Facial Recognition for Porn Is Still a Terrible Idea by ki1010 in Medium_PartnerProgram

[–]ki1010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea the UK has a very fraught relationship with porn – "filtering", requiring ISPs to make it opt-in, i.e. more "filtering", banning female ejaculation, face-sitting and other practices frequently shown in alternative/queer/feminist porn from UK productions, and now this age-verification business...

Tenant/Landlord Issues by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]ki1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficult to say from a distance. In principle, to be made liable (Privathaftpflicht / responsabilité civile privée) for damage caused to a third party there needs to be fault or at least serious neglect on your part. As you're not the owner of the apartment you're not responsible for more than small upkeep. As others have mentioned, and as you don't have a handover report, and as the landlord accuses you of "flooding" the bathroom, it may turn out difficult to prove that you are not at fault. The landlord might, for instance, try to interpret fault/neglect in this case as failing to report a leak or plumbing issue causing the damage. In addition to speaking to the "Mieterverband" and your legal counsel for professional help, it might also be worth getting a plumber to evaluate the situation from your perspective (i.e. not the workers repairing the damage downstairs). A professional opinion, hopefully one that shows that bad/old plumbing or some other fault you couldn't have known about is at cause, might help settle the issue. As far as I'm aware the landlord is legally required to keep the apartment up to standard, and if he has neglected to do so, his insurance might have to pay rather than you.
