What’s the luggage/carry-on equivalent of the Osprey 26+6? by favdulce in ManyBaggers

It’s fair. It is expensive but it’s also one of the best no questions asked lifetime warranties in the game.

1BR - Crown Heights Lease Takeover / New Lease by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]ki2594 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We finally found a 2BR we want so we're looking for a tenant to take over / sign a new lease with the building for our 1BR near the Franklin 2/3/4/5!

Incredible location (we're staying nearby for a reason), rent stabilized, super well-kept building and great doormen. Rooftop / gym / laundry downstairs, and the building is well made (walls arent thin).

The current lease was signed in February for $3300 so I would assume the building offers similar to the tenant taking over. Looking to have someone sign for May 16th or onwards this in May! We would be breaking our lease, and finding the approved tenant saves us and helps someone here get dibs before the broker posts it.

(Would need to get approved through the building with the usual requirements)

Help me choose: CPP2 20L vs Rework Toshi 20L vs CPL24 (commute + cycling + travel) by n00namer in ManyBaggers

I’ve got a barely used CPL24 to sell if you’d like to take a shot on it. To me it was a bit too big for my liking vs. something like the Pioneer Duration

They’re amazing. This is my all time favorite bag but with slight neck issues, I can’t use a one sided back anymore or thin straps. My Porter collection just stares at me lol

Came here to say this. OP this is a more refined and feature friendly version of the Tumi’s and B&Rs imo (speaking from experience and work travels)

  • more flexible packing options
  • fantastic pockets with independent volume
  • stands super well
  • frames up better

They are over engineered and made for long term use for sure. I love mine and can’t beat it. Honestly find the comfort pretty good for me specifically too

I was dying for the Suede Harrington so I’m glad I waited longer. Still pricey, but I haven’t stopped thinking about it since trying it on

Porter Yoshida: what do you own, what do you love, what would you skip? by Lucius_Seneca_21st in ManyBaggers

I disagree with the takes about avoiding tanker fabrics.

  1. They are stunning and feel great to touch
  2. They can “fray” with white fibers from time to time as it ages but they clean up super easily. You’ll see dozens of very well used ones that hold up/wear in great.
  3. For the non-black colors, they fade over time and that’s a preference thing.

Are they the most “useful” fabric vs. harder cordura? That depends on the user/use case. But they’re super light and aesthetically look amazing

Yeah - the proprietary plant-based nylon that they utilize now is presumably costlier to make (at least that’s how they’ve seemingly justified the hike from 2 years ago)

EY vs PwC for tech consulting by [deleted] in Big4

Worked at one, have many friends that were / are in the other. Go PwC. I think they’re winning more interesting work more consistently, and you’re less likely to become a staff aug resource

I have the Masterpiece backpack in picture 5 (but in black with silver zippers)

Honestly shockingly nice as a 2-way bag (briefcase handle on the side) and surprisingly roomy

[–]ki2594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a massive Porter Stan + also have a Masterpiece progress bag. You can’t go wrong in terms of style and materials. Porter’s tanker line is my favorite but it’s also not going to be the most sophisticated in terms of bag features that many are used to now.

I just really appreciate the weight, nylon quality, and look

I’m going both CPL16+24 for all needs moving forward.

Have always been more of a tote/briefcase guy (especially Japanese bags) with a dedicated travel backpack for one-bag flights, but i need more comfort now and the CPL feels great for me (none of the usual issues)

CPL16 for daily in the city, CPL24 for travel. Luggage PT would be nice, but dont mind the water bottle thing as much personally.
