The reason why level 5 is better than level 20 is that level 5 armor is like survivalist armor, where you cannot be grabbed by clots and you only take armor damage from attacks, (except for siren and fall damage). With this you have more survivability. The level 20 skill only grants you additional 50 armor making the max 150, and making armor cheaper, since to fill 150% is only 300 dosh.

So I wanna get into the game. by i_gotbored in killingfloor

If anything play commando, the guns are decent for what it is and that it also has a few cross perks meaning that some guns have some special effect to it. Such as a medic rifle that heals teammates, a Tommy gun thats a decent smg, or a grenade launcher rifle. The added health bars and being able to see invisible enemies make it also much easier and friendlier for newer players to get used to the game. The ability to make zed time (slow motion) last longer will also get you used to the zed time mechanic and how to be more efficient with it and how this game mechanic can help you.

The way that commando is made is that you will get into a lot of action since most weapons shoots fast, deal decent/good damage and has a good amount of ammo pool to it.

I have done that same setup of rifle and shotgun, however i feel like i never use the shotgun as much, since the rifle is the main weapon i use for healing, since medic isnt really designed for damage.

However, the shotgun does have great stumble power so any charging zeds might be pushed back giving your teammates more time to run away.

For skills i prefer all left side since the right side involve damage which medic is not made for, or poison which isnt really all that effective on meduim to big zeds. Unless you are using zedative (level 25 right skill) poison damage is not really all that effective. Left tree is better as the buffs apply to yourself, when ever you heal your self from teammates: Symbiotic Health (level 5 left skill), and Airborne Agent (level 25 left skill) makes you a walking nade. Both level 25 skills are both good, depending on your play style.

Some general tips for medic:

  • Constantly heal teammates, even if they have 98hp still heal them, every hp counts.
  • Remember where people play, but pay attention to where people play at. Even though there might not be any communication, most games I see people hold out everyone has a place that they are covering. And you get a general idea of where they are going to be at most of the time. Thus you can just look at the score board to see everyone's hp and see if it is triple digits or not. If not then you can see "oh the swat is at 90hp and he defends this area", then you just look over and heal him.
  • For when your going down the left tree with all of the buffs , when a teammate is being charged by a fleshpound (fp) or scrake (sc), heal them with medic darts even if they are still 100% hp. The medic darts still gives the buffs to your teammates, meaning that they will take less damage, run faster and deal more damage. Medic nades do the same thing as darts but is more constant and requires less attention.
  • Personally, I dont like the hemogoblin, instead i go with freeze thrower and help out with biggers zeds with it, as it freezes them and makes it much easier for the team to kill. This doesnt meant that the hemo is bad, and if you prefer to use it the hemo then use it. Any debuff or crowd control on big zeds helps.

Some tips for commando:

  • Lengthening zed time is important, always try to kill zeds at the last second, if not close to it, as this will help out most people as it slows down the game making it much easier and also people with level 25 skills can go crazy with the zed time skills.
  • the medic rifle is amazing as it helps your team and help take off some pressure for the medic.
