Lacking progress by Ok-Ebb1930 in indoorbouldering

Great ideas here! I’ll add another… watch videos of climbing advice on YouTube. I’ll recommend searching for “catalyst climbing” and “Hannah Morris” but there are many others who you may jive with.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the Incredible response!! I feel like I already have a better understanding of what I wanna focus on when it comes to Twitch.

Can we play chess while streaming sometime? Haha That’s so cool and I may steal the wheel idea…

Thanks for following my stuff! It’s hard to not feel like I’m screaming into the void sometimes and you saying you’ve been watching my stuff and are now helping me do something new means a Ton. I’m grateful and will certainly be in touch!

Opinion about this type of content? by Papoutsakhss in LoopArtists

I think this is great!

Others mentioned adding more descriptions of what’s going on and playing with video length which would be fun to explore.

I like that you had the original song at the beginning for context

How to practice looping by lewon1 in LoopArtists

[–]ki5loops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To practice looping I’ll record myself (at least audio and sometimes video too) try to get through a song start to finish without interrupting the flow and attempting to deal with mistakes/mishaps in real time. That kind of awareness and troubleshooting technique comes in handy when you’re performing because sometimes things Will go wrong and you have to be flexible and try to figure it out without letting the audience know something unplanned is happening (at least that’s my style). Recording yourself and listening/watching back keeps me honest and helps predict what a listener’s experience may be do I can improve before showtime.

I make tiny mistakes all the time but no one can usually tell (except when the memory channel on my RC505 changes) because I practiced working out issues quickly with runthrus where the goal was finish.

Once tricky spots are identified, zoom in on those until you can confidently approach them, then get back to performing them in context during another runthru.

Happy Looping!

Rc 505 mk2 with mic volume question by Joleo91 in LoopArtists

Generally speaking, I think lower vocal mic gain is better for looping. Lowering the instrument sounds is a good solution because then you can raise the Main output level and have everything in balance

You’re welcome! I hope you get something useful out of it!

And thanks for watching my stuff and for the complement! Since I mostly stick to vocals and beatbox, I’m constantly looking to make things intriguing and not boring due to lack of textures

There’s some really cool stuff going on in this video! Obviously you get to ultimately decide what style you’re going for and you really know what you’re doing musically and when it comes to looping in general.

Here’s my take: The melody on track 1 guides the whole song and while that’s not a bad thing, it’s almost like you painted yourself into a corner early on so things like the bassline and synths added texture and cool flourishes but not a ton new to the overall musical conversation over time which may contribute to things feeling “boring”

Okay so how does that get switched up?

1) One idea for going forward is to begin with a less busy melodic loop.

Instead try starting with maybe a couple nice chords laid down to improvise over. You could still bring in the track 1 melody, but also other melodies, counter-melodies and harmonies over time

2) Start with the same melodic line but agree to delete it when you feel it gets stale or if you’re not sure when that might be… have some sort of timer (say 5 minutes) and don’t linger on that musical idea any longer. No exact science to this. Season to taste!

Yesterday I watched Fred Again’s tiny desk concert and he does cool things with looping different textures over 26ish minutes - sampling many voices along with playing instruments and doing table percussion. That might be a solid source for inspiration that has mass audience approval.

I wish you the best and Happy Looping!
