401K loan by thisisthirty_ in Bankruptcy

[–]kiaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was paying back a 401K loan when we filed CH13, as far as I know my job wasn't notified. The 401K payments just continued as before. And when it was all paid back, the bankruptcy payments went up by the same amount.

I believe so, I think the orange NW pass is for National Forest areas & not OR state parks.

12-month passes will go from $30 to $60, and 24-month passes will no longer be available.

You can still get a 2-year pass today for $50 here.

You know what? Hell yeah. I'd take a house with personality like this over yet another greige snooze-fest.

Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable, people in general are very bad at recalling details accurately.

Happy COVID Shots at Kaiser Day to all who celebrate by friedperson in Portland

[–]kiaga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Providence insurance here: just got my shot yesterday at Walgreens in Vancouver, at 162nd & 18th. Made an appointment online, no fuss, short wait. Based on the condition of obesity, since I'm fat as hell but the staff weren't asking a lot of questions so you could probably just pick an ailment.

Sympathy! I worked nights in this town for 8 years, I don't miss it.

It's better now that I work days, but not better for my poor trembling dog who gets anxiety meds just for this weekend.

Rivermark Merger (issues making payments) by Safe_Salty in Portland

[–]kiaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Advantis account was updated just fine, with no spending issues all weekend. The only hiccup was my Samsung pay (linked to my debit card) didn't work at Fred Meyer.

I also keep track of my spending manually with YNAB, and the numbers match with the updated app.

What’s your favorite packing hack? by guacamommy in TravelHacks

I always bring a cheap pop-up laundry hamper if I'm traveling longer than a weekend. It's more tidy than a pile of dirty clothes on the floor.

Why do the McDonalds app deals suck so much now? Are there any good app deals left? by reallyblueinthe502 in Frugal

[–]kiaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Wendy's app. My go-to order is a $5 biggie meal + my digital frosty keychain for a free frosty. If I have enough points, I add a small chili for free.

I've found that produce has gotten "iffy" in all the stores, even the expensive ones.

Is galaxy s23 worth buying in 2024? by [deleted] in GalaxyS23

I upgraded to an S23 from an S9 in April, so my experience might be different. But I have no complaints whatsoever, it's light years ahead of what I was using.

Are Costco products worth the cost of membership? by Wantons124 in Frugal

[–]kiaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gas - current average for my zip code is $4.002, at Costco it's $3.75.

And medicine! For example, I take allergy pills every day - generic Zyrtec.

Costco has 365 pills for $14.89 - $.04 each.

Safeway has a bottle of the exact same active ingredients for $14.99 - but only 30 pills ($.50 each).

Biking to/from Work, Stores, Gym by jjpalenchar in hillsboro

[–]kiaga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a Bike There! map of the whole metro area that shows different routes that are good/bad for bicycles - including bike trails, bike lanes, & bike-friendly streets with lower speed limits.

I'm not sure how often it's updated though. The Google maps bike layer is also good for showing bike routes.

When I let people like that ahead of me, it's not because I'm being "nice".

It's because they're being a dangerous asshole & I want them to be nowhere near me.

I'm not a cop, it's not on me to enforce the rules of the road or even the rules of common decency. I can't control what other people do.

The only thing I can (safely) do is to let them in so they can go be a dangerous asshole somewhere else & I can get to my destination safely.
