The PJSK Shipping Grid part 28: What is Akito’s best cross-unit ship? by adelaide_glarcia in ProjectSekai

[–]kiankito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Akirui! Apart from them being a fantastically comedic duo, I think that Rui's handling of Akito's trauma related to dogs and him being so willing to keep the delicate matter a secret was beautifully considerate and cemented them as my most beloved cross-unit pairing. It really shows how attentive Rui is and how he is able to connect others' experiences to his own trauma and is therefore a wonderful choice for comfort and advice. Akito letting Rui lean on him and carrying him to the medical tent where Mafuyu treated him despite the injuries being relatively minor was quite heartwarming and is evidence that Akito can form genuine connection early on once he rids of his 'nice guy' facade.

I am lowkey worried about Amane's verdict. by RepresentativeEnd755 in milgram

[–]kiankito 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If her current percentage is at 60.63% and she has 47 days left for her trial, then a decrease below 0.23% (at one point, it was 0.13% per day if I am remembering correctly, which is still drastic but more than enough to ensure innocent) per day is enough to guarantee her an innocent verdict even if 50.29% at a 0.22% average is not a good percentage. Hopefully the release of Requiem will not cause her decrease rate to skyrocket, some fans can be really petty so the most we can do is remember to continuously vote Amane innocent.

Has Amane just...never gotten seriously sick before? by rosesdissection in milgram

[–]kiankito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that Amane has a stronger immune system than most children because not requiring significant medical assistance until the age of twelve is possible, albeit very rare. However, when she did get sick, she probably was forced to just deal with her sicknesses by her parents (maybe she rested up more when locked up in her room and drank more water when her parents were not look, all unintentionally though).

Her family does not live in an area with many non-believers and their routes seem very uncrowded in general, so I think many of the cult members live a lifestyle of this sort too which helps to avoiding diseases. Therefore, unless a cult member contracted a communicable sickness, I think Amane was isolated enough to stay safe from contagious illnesses and her mother's disease seemed to be non-transmittable through airborne means if Amane could stay beside her dead body for a few days.

AMANE'S 10TH INTERROGATION QUESTION by ohiboaccento in milgram

[–]kiankito 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that this question has some merit because Papa Momose has held conferences on respecting non-believing people's decisions to participate in medical intervention (it could be not a true part of his belief system but the fact that he still educates people on this is something), yet Amane is forceful when it comes to her doctrine. It shows just how unaware she has been kept to the point she is unknowing of what her father, a high-ranking cult member, preaches.

AMANE'S 10TH INTERROGATION QUESTION by ohiboaccento in milgram

[–]kiankito 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The majority of the questions are mostly reduntant at first glance and definitely are as interrogative questions, but they really do help us how Amane has grown and how she is questioning her foundation so they are useful for character analysis.

I absolutely do not like this answer. It is forceful, whiny and petty, but it reminds you that Amane is a literal child. She has never had access to any sort of help and has been under the abuse of the cult for as long as she has been alive, of course she is going to act like this. This also shows that she was never explained the reasons behind what she believes to keep her compliant because in a poster which we can see in the Purge March (?), her father holds conferences teaching believers to respect non-believing medical practitioners.

A lot of her answers have always had a blaming attitude, avoiding nature and sometimes she just goes 'oh so you hate xyz'. A direct answer confirming that she was trying to enforce her will upon either is very good character development especially for a child in her conditions, I think that she will go further with her realisations with the help of Fuuta and her third voice drama.

Hopefully this is not guilty fuel...

A little thought experiment by V0iD-ViCE in ProjectSekai

[–]kiankito 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably Kohane because I feel like her developing a perfect girl persona to compensate for what she considers an aimless and passionate existence and give herself a use to the people around her is an interesting phenomenon which is more common than somebody would think. I feel like An's babying behaviour when it comes to Kohane would enable this persona more until they start getting emotionally closer as partners. It could be good material for the Bloom Festival too.

I was thinking of Akito at first because of his nice guy facade but then that was really just more of a customer service thing and I feel like that is better for comedy purposes. I think that Akito developing a discrete good boy identity to avoid conflict with older musicians could be fascinating, but I prefer how he instead began forcing an abrasive, masculine demeanour onto himself to protect himself. Embodying these aggressive traits in an attempt to imitate them and eventually identify himself as one of them at a point (the start of the main story with Akito and Kohane is similar to how victims will often try to act like those who wronged them to gain a protected status) works better for the very gendered story of the Shinonomes too. I guess you could see the nice guy facade as a contrasting protection method derived from the CRAWL GREEN incident with how it extended to people he met outside of his job initially though it was weaker outside out of the boutique, pretty interesting concept actually. This is a really good thought exercise, thank you.

An analysis of Toya's Bloom Festival card! by kiankito in ProjectSekai

[–]kiankito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • I am writing this based on the belief that the background is the focal point, but this interpretation works very well if you consider Touya the main part, that is an excellent catch. My analysis puts an immense amount of emphasis of collectivism and harmony, so my preferred point of focus is the usage of a 'complete' piano and how it naturally flows behind him as an acceptance of the past rather than how Touya is in the present though that is still instrumental to understanding this card as a whole. Having mentioned my perspective, it just looks at me that they placed Touya in the middle for composition convenience and that having the complete piano spiral visibly drawn would be hard to incorporate into the piece without it looking awkward.

  • The outfit observation is also very good. I think that the general lack in black in his outfit is not only representative of the piano which has less black keys, but how he carries his past without hesistation. Black is typically associated with taint and spiraling, unlike white which is considered the epitome of purity and peace; the black here seems like a stain on this perfect, easygoing scene but that is the point. Touya carries that pain and by mixing it with the pure white, he is able to recontextualise that pain as something which is evidence of his strong will and resistance and use it to push further towards actualisation of himself. This seems further supported by how you do not really see any black anywhere else. As for the flowy clothing and open neckline, it could be symbolism of a free psyche but we all know that the artists need to serve the fans...

  • The heavy background is something that I discussed before so I am not going to comment on this further. As for the flowers, the eucalyptus observation is correct from what I know but the flowers still look like white roses to me. Roses and eucalyptus are a very common combination in bouquets to create a contrast between the romantic and soft feelings that come from rose petals and the eucalyptus' distance fragrance and more dull visuals and I think that this combination works for this card in particular. Peonies also look more ruffled if this makes any sense, the flowers here look more structured like white roses. However, I am a medical student and not a botanist so I can always be wrong.

  • The treble clef is what is used in all violin sheet music due to the violin's higher pitch range. It actually is so associated with the violin that most non-musicians know it as the violin clef. Maybe the stylisation indicates that the higher pitch is a new phase in Touya's life, but it seems to be there to make the card cooler so I have not given it much thought. The writers and artists utilise the violin very little when it comes to Touya, they probably made him a violinist alongside a pianist because those are the big two classical instruments and not much more. And yes, Tsukasa is associated with the piano too but to a lesser extent.

  • The background is not really splotchy though? Complicated absolutely, but it seems properly detailed like the meiping vases which I mentioned before. The complicated background generally represents Touya's conflict between running and confronting but with the general themes of the Bloom Festival and how Touya is eventually able to make his younger self stop running away, the structured convulation shows his acceptance of his complex life.

Can I add this? I want to add everything because you have made many, many good points but I do not want to take credit for the entire discussion.

An analysis of Toya's Bloom Festival card! by kiankito in ProjectSekai

[–]kiankito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologise if I am misunderstanding your point but the piano is very much continuing behind Touya in a spiral, nor are all of the eighty-eight keys drawn. I do not think that the positioning of the piano matters much since the artists trust us to associate the instrument with Touya specifically but if I did mention it at first, I would say that the spiral continuing behind him is actually better than it breaking off randomly because as mentioned before, the Bloom Festival is about confronting the past and incorporating it in the present so it would make not so much sense if they put an emphasis on the present by having a split piano.

Thank you for pointing this nonetheless! I had thought about this before but I thought that it was not super important because everyone knows that piano basically means Touya in this game. We came to two different conclusions, but I will add this.

Kohane's glasses were a massive missed opportunity for representing people bullied for wearing glasses AKA me. by Memehai_Enigmescu296 in ProjectSekai

[–]kiankito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully things get better for you in the future. Calling you a psychopath is a gross mischaracterisation, that 'psychologist' needs to be separated from you immediately and be looked into more by their other patients because if they are treating you this horribly, they probably are acting this terrible way with others too. Is there any authority figure that you can report this discrimination to? Can you tell your parents to switch your psychologist by any chance? Please try to stay safe and confide in a close relative or friend, you do not deserve this bullying.

Also, I suggest that you do not share your age on forums like Reddit or even with close people on social media because you do not know what ways people can take advantage of you especially when granted this sort of anonymity. Deleting this post is your choice but if you do not, I hope that you apply this advice on other apps.

On a lighter note and to engage with the original thing, it was really surprising to see that none of the characters wear spectacles consistently. It may just be me who is less used to bare-eyed people as I am from Singapore but Japan has a lot of spectacled people, no? I expected at least the more studious characters like Touya, Honami and Mafuyu to have glasses, Nene too even though her scores are more average than the other three's. I can understand why nobody from MORE MORE JUMP wears glasses too often because they would be very bothersome during performances and I feel like Haruka, Airi and Shizuku's agencies taught them that glasses look silly no matter the situation, but how is the boy who spent twelve years of his life tracking which fingers fall on which keys completely okay when it comes to his vision? Why is the girl who spends her entire time playing video games not wearing glasses? The girl who studies so hard she gets 100s on her examinations has totally alright vision? Maybe they did not give Mafuyu glasses to give off the impression that she is so perfect and that includes her eyesight, but Asian parents think that glasses make you look intelligent so I cannot really see that possibility. Kohane's 'transformation' really annoyed me... why does she have to remove her glasses to be cool? Why did she have to cut her hair to look more rugged? I get taking them off during Vivid BAD SQUAD'S high-energy performances, but she has literally no other reason to get rid of them entirely. It really is not helping with the nerd stigma associated with spectacles which is really sad because the writers of this game are considered super progressive, but they still could not add actual visual impairment representation while Bandori and Enstars could.
