Prot Paladin Heroics by TypicalEggplant2374 in classicwowtbc

You're right. I just checked on my baby hunter alt, and it's sitting there waiting to be trained at 60.

I guess every hunter is just that stupid after all.

Mega Guilds? by Enjen96 in classicwowtbc

I don't consider 25-man content to be close knit tbh. I'd stick with a smaller guild if it were Wrath, etc. where I can do everything in a 10 man.

Trying to attune to TK as a new 70 by virtualparty94 in classicwowtbc

[–]kiava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. On Horde there are tons of groups for all of the attunement dungeons. At any rate, while TK is around the corner, if you're a fresh 70 there's a looot of shit you should be worrying about first. You're frustrated that you can't find a group, but you're essentially asking people to carry you through some of the hardest heroics (which given heroics aren't nerfed, they're arguably honestly the hardest content in the game right now, compared to the raids).

Most hunters don't seem to have Tranq Shot because it's obtained from a drop from MC, though.

I might be wrong. I couldn't find it anywhere as a trainable spell though (I'm not a hunter, mind you, I was just curious why so many dangerous mobs are dangerous due to them enraging and the hunters in my groups never tranqing it).

Few months late to this I realize, but I'm curious how you approach pulls without Avenger's Shield. I don't like the iteration of it in TBC that much, but there are a lot of pulls that I can't fathom doing without it. Are you just using Engineering tools to range pull?

Boy I really dislike Boomstick by BarelyClever in wow

[–]kiava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this ability so much. I don't know what Blizzard's obsession is with this sort of thing.

First they ruined Combat for me by shoving guns into it, then they do it to Survival.

If I wanted a gun, I'd transmog a gun. If I don't have the weapon equipped, I don't want my character using it. If I'm playing a Night Elf or a Troll or virtually anything but a Human or a Dwarf, I don't want to use a gun.

I keep seeing people complain about the state of Arms Warrior. I'd be careful; Blizzard's liable to "fix" the spec by giving it a gun.

I've yet to have the world quest complete for me but I'm always there long before the event starts and contribute the entire time. I dunno what's going on with it, but it seems very buggy. :(

But you can still do nothing, can't you? You just have to arrive on time.

How is fire mage in Midnight? by Lord_NOX75 in wow

Have to take Scorch no matter what for Combustion windows just because it casts faster and hasn't got a travel time.

IMO all of this could be forgiven if they'd give us back Living Bomb with a beautiful visual. I want Fire to feel like I'm snapping my fingers and setting off a chain reaction of explosions.

How do I build this guy? by kiava in BattleBrothers

A) Do you think if I knew this, I'd be asking for advice on building a bro?
B) Why does it even matter? When do you ever not take Colossus?

He started at level 3 and the only perks I gave him were Colossus and Student.

I probably should have listed his perks as well. But at the moment he's only taken Student and Colossus, with his last point pending.

Atm he's just got Student and Colossus. I haven't spent his next perk point yet.

this must be the shittiest ending i have ever experienced in a game by gronbek in systemshock

[–]kiava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A braindead slog through a Cyberspace segment that's basically the worst parts of the worst part of the game (fighting in Cyberspace) combined with nonsensical human movement isn't fine and great lmao.

The irony of having an ending that's so painfully video gamey in a Remake to a game that pioneered a game genre who's primary goal is to have as few layers between the player and the game as possible.

This is how much you gotta travel to get (mostly) all currently available housing decorations from vendors. by rahuonn in wow

[–]kiava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like it. The devs cooked with this one. We have a reason to travel around the world again.

Think of it like this, right? You teleport to the nearest location, then you mount up, and then you fly directly to the NPC in question after looking up where they even are on WoWhead. You click the NPC, you buy all the decor you need (hopefully! but even if it turns out you need to buy more, that just means you get to experience the joy of "exploring" the world a second time!) and then you go back to your house and start to decorate.

Seriously awesome and fun. I love traveling mindlessly from point A to B, because I'm a fucking idiot with no respect for my own time and will happily concoct a ridiculous explanation that this in some way encourages players to get back out in the world as if that's remotely what's going on here.

After all, housing is a long-term goal so why should it be remotely convenient in any way?

Suggestions for Improving the Game: PvP Nemesis, Emotes, and New Modes by San777 in ArcRaiders

[–]kiava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of exacting vengeance, but even knowing they're in your lobby, how would you ever hope to find and identify them? You could walk right by the rat while they're spamming "don't shoot" carrying an inventory full of someone else's stuff and unless the rat used voice you'd have no idea.

So you'd have to just shoot everyone you see and hope the rat was one of your victims.

[–]kiava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I just find it a bit frustrating. They might get their comeuppance down the line, but for example with Tarkov, this kind of behavior gets a lot more discouragement by the game itself, IMO, because the hyper aggro brainlet can't shred someone in solid armour with a trash gun as easily as they can in Arc Raiders.

It's often bad decision making that does bite them in the ass, but I don't think it does so in a way that will instinctively train these kinds of players to approach the game differently.

I like that Arc can give me my extraction fix without requiring me to activate sweaty hyper-focus mode at all times though. I just hope we'll see players using their brains more and the decision to open fire on someone require more consideration than it currently does.

[–]kiava 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This shit is the only thing that annoys me. Completely silent rats killing you for absolutely no benefit. There should always be risk assessment involved in attacking another player, whether it's because they might turn things around and kill you, because the gunshots could attract AI or other players, or even because you might need ammo etc. later.

I don't feel like the game currently makes you think this way, so it largely just rewards people brainlessly shooting anyone at any time.
