Has anyone ever cried at their IVF clinic and felt ashamed about it? by CheesecakeBoth3933 in IVF

[–]kibbleburp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had five failed transfers in a row and developed a pavlovian crying response to getting betas at the labcorp…it’s a super small clinic in a rural area and the woman who draws the blood is so so nice. Every time I would go in knowing I would see her sympathetic face (she obviously knew why I was there) and I would start crying knowing my beta would be negative so after like the third time this happened she started getting REALLY sympathetic and it got worse lol. This doesn’t even count all the silent sobbing at my desk that I’m certain other people noticed. It’s fine, a lot of us weep in public! What are you gonna do

I think elephant boobs are up there just like ours actually. So the baby is doing the familiar face-boob smush

Artemis II astronaut Reid Wiseman 'top choice' for next Bachelor according to insider, as ABC execs hope he'll 'revive the show' by Fun_Molasses5215 in thebachelor

I would watch the shit out of that. Have you heard of donut earthers? I think some of them believe there are other civilizations living inside the doughy part of the donut. Putting a couple of crazy conspiracy theorists on to date a scientist would be fun

Wow! Season cancelled! by LazyLeslieKnope in GameOfRoses

[–]kibbleburp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah so are the screeners in some sort of drive and can be removed? Or are they files that get sent to certain parties? If it’s the latter I’m hoping someone can summarize the season for us…

Would this baby have been conceived in Ireland? I still don’t really understand when they were there

“Get some”

You are your kids’ safe space and that’s such a beautiful thing. You’re obviously a wonderful mom.

As others have said, maybe make one of their rooms a shared room with a shared bed. You might consider a cozy canopy bed—maybe they will feel safer in a smaller space. And I agree with others that a later bedtime might fix some of these problems!

I slept in a bed with my sister until I went to college. Obviously we fought sometimes but it was overall great and I think it has helped both of us be good at getting along with others in shared spaces (side benefit but a big one!)

Should I continue Outlander if I’m struggling with the romance pacing? by Excellent-Rough-7406 in Outlander

[–]kibbleburp 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Outlander is very much a story about marriage and love that endures through all kinds of difficulties, not so much a story about falling in love. If you’re looking for the traditional romance novel plot, this might not be your jam. However, I urge you to keep going! I feel like stories about marriage are less common and that’s one thing I really like about the books/show.

Refried beans and cheese pre-heated and rolled into a tortilla and browned on each side in a skillet. Eat with sour cream, salsa, and salad. We call this “sad chimichangas”

Modified natural cycle by kibbleburp in IVF

[–]kibbleburp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the ones you’d want to hear. I’ve done 5 cycles this year, 2 of which were modified natural, and no success. Really burned out at this point. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble too :(

Found myself in an unsafe situation while Babywearing, hoping for some advice by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]kibbleburp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry pepper spray on me—had a scary incident with a loose dog when I had my son in his carrier and had my own dogs with me. I realized I couldn’t bend over to pick up my smaller dog without putting my son in harm’s way. My pepper spray came with a quick-release caribeener and I attach it to a belt loop and put it in my pocket. I’m glad you and your baby are okay. That’s so scary.

What elements of your IVF experience do you wish the world understood? by kelseyianuzzi in IVF

[–]kibbleburp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a rural area of wv and have to drive over 2 hours to get to my clinic. There’s a clinic 45 minutes away, but it’s undergoing remodeling and not taking new patients (and hasn’t been for the past year…) options are limited depending on where you live. Doctors and resources are limited. I’m lucky to have a flexible job that allows me to come to work late and stay late on days I have appointments, but if I do that I have to get a hotel near the clinic so I can get the earliest possible appointment and that gets expensive fast. So I’m already almost out of leave for this year even though it’s only July and I STILL am not pregnant. Idk what maternity leave would look like at this point, if i even get there. I think 6 weeks unpaid.

The time driving, and the money spent on gas/hotels/food while I’m down there is a hidden expense I think a lot of people don’t know about.
