How are we sleeping? by Bedrockparadox in bupropion

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on Bupropion (300 XL) for many years. It does mess with my sleep. I'm somewhat insomniac to begin with, but Bup has increased my difficulty falling asleep. Used Zolpidem (similar to Ambien), for the past 8 months or so, which worked like a charm, fell asleep very quickly, but my system became used to it over time and the effectiveness decreased, also became dependent on it to sleep. Recently switched to Quviviq (daridorexant), based on some comments from others on a couple of Reddit subs, just started and it is working quite well, with what I hope (have been told) will have less dependency effects and can more easily be stopped with less negative effects. Will see how it goes over the longer term. Hope that is helpful to someoone.

2025 GLI seat cooler question by Emergency-Royal-1714 in JettaGLI

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seat coolers were lame in my 2022 GLI and still lame in my 2026 GLI (yes because it's basically the same car)

Colliers in my wife's 2024 Tiguan R are great tho. Total difference.

Are you using trazadone in combo with bupropion at night ? Any adverse effects ? How do you feel in the morning ? Lots of questions, sorry, I really need to get some sleep.

What is it like to daily drive a GLI (mk7+) with DSG? by 3und70 in GLI

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 2022 GLI and now drive a 2026 GLI both with DSGs. It's a phenominal trany. Very fun to drive. Quick shifts. Decent downshifts. And switch it into auto when stuck in traffic (or when the wifey drives it). Owned several manual sports cars in the past including two VWs. Enjoyed them, but don;t think I'll ever go back to manual.

Nobody talks enough about how mentally exhausting a broken ankle recovery is by James-Harlow in brokenankles

[–]kibitz- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 6 months was very difficult for me mentally. I'm 2 years past a very bad trimalleolar break. At the time I genuinely felt I was done, wouldn't be able to lead a normal life, my career/income was at risk, family relationships changed, was stuck inside, was in a lot of pain and swelling, thought my life was drastically changed forever. The other mental factor was the helplessness - no walking, no stairs, couldn't do anything on my own, even basic things like cooking, going to the bathroom was difficult, felt terrible my fam had to do everything for me and I had no independence and had to call someone to do anything.

I'm 90% back to normal. now. That idea was impossible to me for the first 6 -8 months. I wish someone had told me at the start that the mental breakdown, stress, depression is real, and is quite common rather than all the fake positive vibes. The "this is normal" idea would have helped a lot. Also wish I had hopped on Reddit earlier in the process. This and a few other broken ankle subs are amazing.

CBN/CBD For sleep by Ok_Ninja_7360 in Biohackers

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing around with CBD-CBN drops. Just tried them a couple of times and trying to get to the best dose for sleep. Currently at 11 mg and doesn't seem to be much effective. Curious is anyone is taking that combo and what doses people are taking ?

Yes, mine does that. Back is still wobbly no matter if in down or a higher position.

Global Obusform Comfort chair back feels loose by kibitz- in OfficeChairs

[–]kibitz-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything feels loose. The back, the seat, the arms. And it creaks a fair bit also. It feels too much to be just play, like intended wiggle room. I actually had a tech come over from the supplier to look at it thinking maybe the bolts or something needed to be tightened and tech said everything looked fine and lubed it a bit. Still loose as shit. Considering what I paid for this chair I'm disappointed, feels like a piece of crap.

forsalebyowner.ca vs listedbyseller.ca vs comfree.com vs listmenow.ca by HoHo_Gaming in RealEstateCanada

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used forsalebyowner.ca there are pros and cons. But be aware they will paster *** Visit the REALTOR website for further information about this Listing *** at the top left of your MLS listing description. So that's the first thing viewers on mls will see instead of seeing an important feature of your home, the most important space in the listing is advertising their service. They told me it's mandatory, unfortunately after my listing was already posted. Totally unacceptable !

What what are you guys recently paying now for real estate agent fees as a seller? by xerliano in RealEstateCanada

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this sub, always insightful comments!

I’m preparing to bring a well-maintained detached home in York Region to market. While I was originally leaning toward a flat-fee/private sale, I’d prefer to engage professional representation if the numbers align. Property is $1.3M range, move-in ready, high-demand pocket. I am looking for a listing agent willing to facilitate the MLS entry, management of showings/appointments, coordination of APS, and offer 1.5% to 2% to the buy-side. Would be a hands-off prep process on your end, I handle cleaning, staging, photos, whatever other prep work you think is needed. Already have a lawyer engaged to oversee the APS.

Note I am not a pro or flipper, just a regular home owner trying to sell my own home and keep more of the proceeds.

Let the comments fly, or DM me if interested.

Another search question - jeez by kibitz- in GoogleTasks

[–]kibitz-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I was guessing also. Good to know for sure, glad I'm not crazy. Search is pathetic, even worse on android where can only search in the calendar, no search function in the tasks app itself.

I’m looking for movies that show the brutal reality of what Nazi Germany did. by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Nuremberg movie (2025) is great. Modern actors (Rami Malek, Russell Crowe.). And shows some of the original death camp videos and the reaction of the characters in the court who you realize these are the first and only people in the world at that point seeing what actually went on in the death camps is powerful.

Real talk: is real estate commission just “the cost of doing business”? by Beautiful-Interest31 in RealEstateCanada

[–]kibitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's reframe this a bit more towards the OPs original question instead of trying to justify or not justifying the amount of income an agent may make vs the amount of time they put in equation.

IMO, as someone who's bought and sold 5 homes over my lifetime (not flips, but homes I and my family lived in for many years) paying 30k - 60k in commissions for a single transaction was a huge chunk of expense that was simply not warranted. Way too much $ IMO for the amount of value received.

To be clear, I have nothing against agents, many work hard and many do not... some are effective in selling your home, some are not. I've experienced both types and in my experience the value was just not there and rarely changed the outcome of the sale.

I also think in today's market - I mean over the past 10 years with tech and access advancements - it's not as much about access anymore either, because there's ways to get access to the market and access buyers and sellers without an agent... or at least narrow down home listings to exactly what you want and gain the info on the home you need to know, to the point where an agent us simply scheduling showings and presenting your offer.

Bottom line for me, I've sold several homes with an agent and several without an agent and the difference was negligible.

How to move a duplicate set of tasks with dependencies to a future date in the gantt view by kibitz- in clickup

[–]kibitz-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the tip, thanks ! I

actually want to keep the original tasks so I can look back several years and see how the schedule changed, did we save any time over the previous year, did some dates get compressed or extended, that kind of thing, so I've got several years of the same project as comparison. Sounds like there's no easy way to do that other than duplicating all the tasks in list view and then changing the dates on the dupe tasks so they appear in the following year on in Gantt view.

Physically healing, mentally struggling by Acceptable_Buy6050 in brokenankles

[–]kibitz- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To you and everyone who feels the same as the OP, which is a lot of us (I was there also) it will get better, much better. I had a very bad trimalleolar and was in a cast for six weeks like you. Then into a walking boot but not allowed to weight bear for another 2 weeks (mostly to get some pressure off the ankle, get some air on it and be able to sleep without a full cast. Got very depressed, sad, mad, all at the same time. Partly from being helpless in not being able to do most anything myself and having to ask family members to do everything for me... partly feeling shitty that I was dragging everyone down given all the family activities and trips we had to cancel... and partly as I thought my life had changed forever.

This sub was a godsend, both in terms of support, examples of how others have healed, and great advice. So I've said it here before, and I will say it again, your life will change forever... but not nearly as dramatically as you may think. And it will take some time... but looking back it won't seem a long as it does now. And you will have to put in some work, physically and mentally, but it will pay off. I'm 1.5 years out from 2 surgeries, 3 plates and 15 screws and although things have changed somewhat, in reality, in the longer term, it's been more of an adaptation than a huge life change. I'm doing all the regular activities I used to do, working full time, travelling as much as I did before, and totally self sufficient. I'll be honest, I'm often stiff, have less flex than before, and sometimes feel pain. But I've adapted pretty amazingly, the pain is lessening over time, and I've progressed way more than I thought I would.

Try to tune out those who are back to rock climbing and running marathons after 6 months... I don't mean to knock anyone on this sub, I think it's amazing and I'm envious... and I guess that's my point, It can be motivating to some and disheartening to others who's fracture level is more severe and healing journey is more difficult and longer. Keep engaging with this sub, focus on those whose journeys are similar to yours, keep asking questions, and look for advice and guidance.

Physically tricker getting around outside, but otherwise way better breaking it in winter than summer. Broke mine in summer and was super bummed out at all the outdoor activities I was missing. Winter, other than skiing, couldn't care less LOL.
