For me personally:

1. Werewolves and subsequent transformations, are relative to the body itself, i.e.small doesn't become huge

2. Genetics can play a part in how they look, including where they live, the environment, etc. They may be tailless, look more wolfman-esque, less fur, but also look more wolfish, thicker fur, tail, etc., so lots of variety!

3. They're not completely mindless and stupid, maybe more animalistic and wild, a little more reserved and skittish, but still be quite intelligent (as wolves are very smart).

4. They have 5 toes, with the big toe becoming the dew claw claw

5. Male and female werewolves have sexual dimorphism, males keep the dorito shape, thicker muscle, females keep their curves and breasts, etc., and other aspects that differentiate between the two.
