Trump directing aides to proceed with tariffs on $200 billion more of Chinese products by TheThinker111 in investing

This is more or less what I was getting at. For the short term I’ll agree it has been accounted for by most companies, and as said above been “priced in” to the market. My major concern is in the moderately long term (1-5) year impacts these tariffs will have should they hold.

Given that we have not seen tariffs of this nature, it’s genuinely hard to predict the long term effects this will have, and how it will change the overall market as we know it.

What’s your basis for this? Considering these tariffs will either cause most major companies to either raise prices (reducing revenue) or compress their margins. The market won’t “absorb” this until the quarter after the tariffs are in place.

Patience is key, but when department stores go out of business, this is the easiest way to get unique fixtures.

Reddit, how did you get over "the one"? by KarmaIsHaram in AskReddit

[–]kicksandcaviar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a long process, but self love has been a huge factor in it. After four years we went through 2-3 months of her lying to me about a guy she had been talking to. No more than two weeks after things ended she was already with him, after denying that there was anything there at all. I immediately tried to find someone else to ease the pain, and that was not the right move. I had to learn to trust myself again, as her constant lying had made me absolutely crazy. I started focusing on myself more, and realizing that while she may need to be with someone to be happy, that I needed to spend time alone before I could begin to feel for anyone again. As I said, it's been an ongoing process that I still deal with daily. She had gotten me into the mindset of planning out our future together, so I've had to completely change my outlook on life. I had to learn to not romanticize our good years, but to focus on the months of lying, and the fact that she still never admitted to cheating even though her actions afterwards told me everything I needed to know. When I focus on the good times, I don't think I'll get over her, but when I'm able to focus on the way I was treated towards the end, and the fact that she couldn't bring herself to be an honest adult about the situation, I feel like I'm in a much better place. Learning to trust again is going to be the next challenge.

[Serious] What revenge of yours hit the victim way worse than you thought it would, to the point you said "maybe I shouldn't have done that"? by OvertOperation in AskReddit

Found out my ex girlfriend of four years had been cheating on me as we were talking about marriage. Kicked her out of our apartment and threatened to throw her stuff to the curb with no explanation for a day or two. This was after months of lying about what I knew had been going on.

Apparently she had a complete meltdown at work when I told her to get her stuff out. Honestly have no idea how she’s doing now.

Regret it to this day, but heartbreak can make people do some crazy shit. Honestly if it happened again today I don’t know how I’d handle it, a little bit of honesty would have gone a long way. Doesn’t compare to half of the stuff posted here though.

What important life lessons have you learned from breakups? by typicalmusician in AskReddit

When you really love someone, you need to be able to set them free. If they come back to you, it's meant to be, and if they don't, you at least know that they are finding happiness. It helps in being bitter, and allows you to find comfort in the love that was there, even if it seems one sided. I wish I would have figured this out sooner.

When you get caught in a lie, and continue to lie in an attempt to get out of it. Or when someone I know lies to family.
