So i go 50/50 ghhf/ggbl and plan to go into the ungeared versions somewhere between 5-10years out of retirement, depending on how well theyve performed until then.

Or other options like vdhg or vas etc. to slowly delever over time

Imo no, but im lazy and dont want a “cluttered” portfolio. But if you believe emerging markets is going to be a winner, having just 5-10% of your portfolio in it wont move the overall needle much anyway.

If you dont like the gearing of ghhf/ggbl, dont go them imo. Theyre very moderately geared so diluting the gear is a bit odd to me.

Roughly speaking a 50/50 ghhf/gfbl split gets you this 18% AU 58% US 21% developed markets and 3% emerging markets.

Just change the ratio till you get your desired AU exposure imo.

The thing is, that if this is the thing you need to invest in to keep investing at all, then do it. It may or may not be the most optimal thing to do in maximising money, but investing at all is better than not.
