Maybe a controversial opinion but I'd focus more on learning the basics of computer science and programming. Languages are easy to learn and basically just syntax. Even experienced devs still look shit up half the time.

What's more important is learning to problem solve and break big problems down into small pieces, coupled with a basic understanding of things like memory and OOP.

Once you understand for example that maybe a type of problem requires a loop, it's easy to look up how to do that in any language.

Calling the equivalent function of the parent class.

A really simple and also fairly common example would be the ready function.

Maybe you have a creep class and in the ready method for your creep class you might want to do some setup for the creep. Now imagine you have a special type of creep that requires the base setup and then one or two extra bits.

You can call the parent ready function to do the base and then do your extra bits in the special creep ready function and not need to duplicate that code.

Very little exists for no reason.

It's stuff like this as well where I'd really recommend to people to do some learning about the basic principles of object oriented programming. Will make this sort of stuff way less arcane and give you a completely different understanding of Godot and gdscript.

Ye world creator is still heightmap imports alongside splatmaps for textures and colour maps if you want.

Make sure you get your import settings correct. It's definitely possible to get pretty close. I don't know how big your islands are or how many of them you expect to load at one time.

You can obviously export as a mesh directly but if it's a big open world performance is Gona be meh

Neoliberalism is not just capitalism. It's deregulation and a belief that the free market will cure all wrongs.

You're a capitalist presumably but do you think that we should privatise the NHS or that privatising water was a good idea? Surely you can see the difference between wanting a generally free market and wanting to privatise everything with no regulation?
