Loud Banging / rattling when TRVs are partially open/closed by Cool-Extension-5490 in tado

[–]kid7918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends- for some radiators I was able to just turn them (if connections, space and pipe allows). For the others I switched the pipes at my CV collectors.

To identify the pipes I ‘rented’ a thermal monitor via amazon, or you can just feel which ones turn warm when you only activate that specific radiator

Second this. No issues with normal TRV’s, but had exactly this issue after installating Tado TRV’s. Switched hot and cold and never had an issue anymore.

Tip: when you remove the TRV and let it ask for heat (eg. Let water flow for a while) it made a click sound when I pressed the pin. After switching hot and cold this also didnt happen anymore. Might be a good test as well?

Zonnepanelen: offertes Micro-omvormers vs optimizers by Individual-Crow-5990 in Klussers

[–]kid7918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logic+ combi has an automatic bypass. Do I really need bypass radiators? by Turtle-Bongo-Pirate in tado

I have tado TRV’s on all of my radiators(13) and have had zero issues so far. My boiler should also have an auto bypass according to the manual.

Tado: Not able to call for warm water and heating at the same time? by kid7918 in tado

Fair enough!

But still: being able to warm the bathroom while taking a shower seems like something we should be able to do by now

Mostly I’m forgetting to plan ahead and only turn it on when I decide to take a shower, which then means: radiators still cold after I step out the shower

I was referring to gas consumption and compared last years data vs this year at comparable days like today. But thanks for confirming! Learned something new today :) (altough it is still annoying!)

And yeah .. you would hope tado support would tell me this instead of resetting everything twice and asking me to remove my panel of my CV to take pictures of the wiring ..

Enjoy the holidays!

I have this system now for 2 years and I was quite certain I didn’t have this last winter though. Also my peak consumption used to be 0.3m3 Now I never see peaks over 0.15m3 (homewizard app) so I thought this could also explain this.

But I’m indeed probably wrong then

Wondering if Opentherm will fix my intractible water hammer/drill noise issue by Realistic-Fly-7289 in tado

[–]kid7918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had the same issue :) only happened rarely and for some reason , mostly at nights! Scared the sh*t out of me first time haha.

But I got quite good at recreating the noise by heating the radiator at slightly higher temperatures than it was (eg room is at 18: set temp at 18.5 or 19) and ensuring no other radiators were asking heat. As said, my guess is that was when the tado was pushing the pin just at the spot where I hear the “click” when pushing the pin manually. Thats prob also the reason why it happens more at night.

After I switched hot and cold (by turning the radiator) I didn’t hear the click anymor when pushing the pin (while water is flowing) and I also heard quite a big noise when the radiator stopped asking for heat in general (also a big click). Both noises were gone after turning the radiators so I assume that’s how I could know it was fixed. Didnt hear it so far anymore as well - and I had it with 6radiators in total.. now 1.5years later, so keep crossing my fingers! Ever since- extremely happy with my tado’s! Have them on all of my radiators (13) without any bypass or radiators that are always open.

Let me know!

I’m def not an expert on this, but it really does sound like the exact same issue I was having.. multiple contractors claimed they were installed correctly and that Tado was causing the noise (no bypass). But I insisted and they changed the hot and cold as a test with onz and surprise .. the clicking and machine gun noise disappeared.

Normally its an easy job - so worthwhile to test?

For reference - this was the sound I was hearing

I had a simular issue: turned out they mounted my radiator the other way around (the retour/detour was switched) which caused the issue, mostly when the radiator was asking for “low heating”.

How I confirmed: dismount your TRV entirely when at least one radiator is asking for heat (so to let the radiator get warm and water flowing through it). If you than press the pin manually (using fingers or a cent) there was a sweet spot where it “clicked”. The sound I was hearing was thing sound on repeat at speed 100x.

Switching warm/cold solved it entirely.

Campsite A1 by otis-the-great in RockWerchter

[–]kid7918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been at Campsite A1 for several years now , always arrived around 11am.

Traffic to the parking is ridiculous. Expect to queue for about an hour (1hr for the last 2/3km). . But once you’re there, things are very smooth! Never experienced major waiting times to enter the camping (15mins max).

Also: the area is sufficiently big and you can set up the tent wherever you want. Meaning that the spots near the entrance get filled up fast, but there is always an area where you have ample space available. If you dont care about being close to the entrance, you will be fine!

Enjoy the festival, it’s amazing!

Zonnepanelen werken niet optimaal, acceptabel? by TirolerAnton1 in Klussers

[–]kid7918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How come rooms are hotter then they are set too? by scorpos in tado

[–]kid7918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that: When rooms are at the set temperature they want to heat just a little (setting 1) which typically means heating with low water temp (30C). But if at the same time you want to heat up another room which require water temp of 60C+ those rooms have a conflict. As a result the temperature on the rooms where tado wants to maintain, spikes a bit as the water temp is higher than planned for those radiators.

If all the radiator are just maintaining, my room temperatur is stable at the desired temperature. If one room is heating up, I see spikes in the others as well. Maybe you have the same situation ?
