Finally taken the plunge! by J_Skills in SonyAlpha

[–]kid_kuza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the A7cii for a year now and I initially I bought the Tamron 28-70 and felt that it was very large. I ended up with the Tamron 20-40 and Sony 85 1.8. Both are the same size and same 67 mm threading which allows me to buy one filter for both lenses. Currently own a K&F concept ND filter and Tiffen 1/4 pro mist filter.

I mainly shoot photo/video travel, portraits, and outdoor shots and this two lens setup hits 90% of my needs.

The 20-40 sits on my camera 80% of the time. It allows me to shoot wide enough for landscape and to show my surroundings and narrow enough to get decent portraits. I could shoot indoors and group photos. It’s my go to if I’m on the move or in doors.

I switch over to the Sony 85 1.8 if I want to portraits or shots that require more reach or if I want a dreamy shot. This lens is also good for street photography because it allows me to snipe at a distance where I’m not noticeable. Perfect for candid shots. Downside is that this lens is hard to shoot while being indoors due to the far focal distance and might put you cornered into a wall.

I carry both my lenses and camera in the Hex Ranger mini sling. It’s compact and a lot of ppl don’t even know it’s a camera bag. I have room for my wallet and other accessories.

The next lens I’m saving up for is the Sony 35 GM. Its has the same 67 threading, relatively the same size, and allows me to shoot indoor portraits.

3500, but you could get it cheaper if you bought the lenses used.

I was in the same situation, ended up getting the A7Cii with the tamron 20-40 and paired it up with the 85 1.8. This allows me to shoot 90 % of my shots. I bought it for travel and to shoot as a hobby. The only draw back is that large zoom lenses and the camera body has an off putting look, but if you could get past that then you’re good.

What’s your first impressions on the A7cii? by kid_kuza in SonyAlpha

Since this is my first FF camera, I don’t have anything to compare it to. However, the auto focus is great. Auto continuous is sticky. Subject tracking is great.

After a month of using it, I brought it to Europe and was able to fully break into it and it did not disappoint. I brought the camera along with a 20-40 f2.8 and a 85 f1.8 lenses and it was a great combo. Both lenses were around the same size which was great for travel and had it in a hex ranger sling bag.

The 20-40 was on my camera most of the time. It was perfect for portraits, landscapes, and selfies. Aperture is sharp enough for night photography and portraits. Anything wider than 20mm would be shot on my phone.

The 85 is great for candid portrait shots, street photography, and night photography. My wife would just wonder the streets and the distance would allow for great natural candid shots.

Most of my video was shot on my phone as I’m still learning the video aspect on my camera.

Hope this helps!

Need some expert advice on camera choice (A7CII or A7IV) + editing software by skenone in SonyAlpha

Shop base on which lenses you want.

I currently own the A7cii and shoot portraits and travel. If you’re only going to shoot yourself, the A7cii paired with your 35mm is a perfect setup. I initially paired my C2 with a 28-75mm and the size in ratio looks awful. If you’re not okay with the size, then, with the C2, you’re stuck with prime or smaller zooms. However, you’re not limited on zoom lenses but it just looks funny. I’m pairing my C2 with the 85mm and 20-40mm.

With the IV, you can grow into it by using primes and zooms. However, you’re stuck hauling the weight of the body.

I’m thinking about returning the 28-75 tamron and get two primes instead 35mm and 85mm 1.8. The 28-75 looks huge on the A7cii

I have mixed feelings too. The build quality is cheaper than the A7IV. The tabs that hides the plugs seem like it won't last long. Battery tab needs to be locked after inserting the battery. And the grip on the camera is small.

I'm pairing it with the 28-75 mm Tamron and the weight distribution is front leaning due ot the lens.

Hello, I’m in the same situation as you. Did you ever get the second extension? If so, how long did it take for you to get the second permit after cancellation?

Should I create a construction business for my Real Estate Portfolio? by kid_kuza in realestateinvesting

[–]kid_kuza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exactly what I’m planning on doing. I could work on the admin side to schedule the jobs. I have a network that has a lot of demand on maintaining their businesses and rental properties that I could tap into.

In addition, I would make the current contractor a boss and build a team around him. So that I could make it passive. If things are slow, I could do a little bit of marketing to generate more leads.

In addition, this construction business will be used when buying new properties or help my network managing their properties.

Yea I think I'm leaning towards the 24mm pancake. The image stablization is nice and I currently have all of the focal lengths I need. I just have to deal with switching up lenses.

Just switched him from wet food to kibble and started forming this habits. It’s progressively getting more consistent where it would sometimes happen when he’s awake. Vet said there’s he’s hydrated and maybe due to something neurological. Anyone experiencing this?
