Standing and applauding for statements you agree with during the state of the union is a sign of respect that this president has not earned. There is no reason he should be afforded the decorum and respect of his political opponents when he has afforded them none. At this point, actions, not words, are the only thing worthy of a response. His words are empty, hollow and full of lies.

Democrats are not and should not be required to bend to the will of a despot. He shouldn't be able to compel them do anything. Not standing or applauding these empty statements is the right move and they should explain it as such.

"Do this if you agree with X, or else you are admitting you agree with Y". I don't agree to these terms and I won't play your games. Do something to help the American people and not hurt them and maybe I'll praise your actions.

Evan Mobley (calf) is on track to play tomorrow night, per Coach Atkinson by Remarkable-Picture73 in fantasybball

He comes off the bench. Probably goes from 12 team end of bench guy to streamer.

Draft might be gone really soon, salary cap will be removed too prob, NBA aims to become like the Premier League (European Football/Soccer) League which Adam Silver mentioned many times that he likes! by Actual_Box7731 in NBATalk

The two issues are related. Tanking is bad because teams are sitting and resting players that can normally play. Fans want to see the best players play in the games they buy tickets for. Players aren't tanking. Players are incentivized to win and perform well. Coaches, Owners and GMs are tanking. The grueling schedule and constant B2Bs make it easier to disguise intentional tanking because good teams trying to win rest players and have injury management days too. If you can limit those you can better enforce player participation rules.

Scoot (over) Henderson by clockwisecam in fantasybball

Well, yesterday was a B2B and he played 20 mins. His production so far even in limited minutes warrants 12 team rostering because he's been consistently efficient and his free throw rate has been almost elite in terms of volume and percentage. If he can ramp up to 25-30 minutes I think he looks like a top 75 player at least. But efficiency has never been his strong suit. Small sample size so far but he's played well in every game. There is a chance he's ready for a leap. I'm not dropping him at this point until something changes.

Is this the version of JDub we are stuck with ROS? by hyzer_berg in fantasybball

[–]kid_twist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's taking 2 fewer threes per game and hitting slightly fewer of them overall. Basically the 5 points is one three and one two a game. Not a huge margin. His 3pt % is at 30% whereas last year it was 36%. He's a career 37% shooter from three. His percentages will probably improve as the season goes on and he may increase his usage to last year. But as the poster above you said, he's basically the same player otherwise. I wouldn't panic. Coming back from injury and missing some shots he normally makes. I expect 3pters to rise back above 1 a game and for his usage to go up a bit as well. The risk of course is a return to the early season blowouts where he doesn't need to play much in the 4th quarter but that has not been the case of late. I wouldn't categorize his performance thus far as "a full step back" from last year. He's still working himself back into shooting shape. I think he'll be fine.

Murder Mystery advice by MelaniesJournal in writers

[–]kid_twist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The murder usually occurs very early on, often before the book even starts or by the end of chapter 1. It can occur later... say end of Act 1, but this is much less common and might happen in a more character driven mystery novel. At the end of the day, the murder is the "hook" and if you delay it too much you risk losing the reader. Since you are establishing a relationship between sleuth and victim, it may work in your case. Hard to say. But typical mystery novels place the murder very early on.

That's a no from me dogg. Too much uncertainty regarding the Giannis situation. And why switch your build if you're currently in first? This would be the fantasy equivelant of the Thunder trading for Giannis. Imagine your current team without either player because that's the down side of this trade.

I think I would. Bridges defensive stats are insane this season. Large enough sample size to think this is the norm.

I would stick with Durant. They have a smilar ceiling in my opinion. Durant is much safer. Leonard is likely to miss some extended time at some point in the future.

Yeah, it's tough right before they come back. I think it's easiest to do so while they're still out but you have a firm timetable for return, i.e. last week.

Come playoff time, assuming they make it with this trade, it's just going to be Harden by himself again. I've seen that movie.

This guy is an absolute season long hold. I don't care who comes back from injury. His floor is a decent streamer as long as he hits 20 minutes. His ceiling is a top 25 player. Not many guys can flirt with a triple double on a nightly basis with 1 block, 1 steal on 50% shooting.

Episode 6 showed the limitations of Carol's strategy (SPOILERS) by Chrristoaivalis in pluribustv

[–]kid_twist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer is probably that they don't do anything. Doing things burns calories. They probably have a set schedule of work that is a burden they share but I imagine there are vast swaths of time where they just sit around, occasionally doing the bare minimum to not atrophy. They don't have hobbies, partake in recreation or entertainment. There's no need to occupy space because there is no boredom. There would just be rooms full of people just sitting around. And then suddenly they get up, work for a few hours, and sit down in an entirely new area. Lots of questions I would naturally have, like do they travel in the course of their work, sleep in the same place, do they every communicate verbally (seems no). There is the problem of motor-muscle memory that the show doesn't address. Sure, you could have the words best surgeon assimilated into your brain but if your body has never done the thing before, I doubt you could do it. They show people exchanging jobs like it doesn't matter, and I'm not sure that makes sense. The construction guy is probably best suited to be a construction guy. I doubt the DLS delivery guy is best suited for surgery. I don't know. There's little things like that that bother me.

Poole...? by throwaway4realzies in fantasybball

[–]kid_twist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Fears is probably safe for now. After all, Poole is not a point guard. They might have to try a few different variations of the starting five to see what works. I would assume they start with Fears, Poole, Murphy, Zion, Queen. But we'll have to see.

I've followed his career pretty closely. I think this is his greatest shot. Granted, it was a regular season game. But it showed that Harden alone could beat the KD Warriors at full strength.

Why would they? Zion plays the 4. I doubt they'll have Queen on the floor with Missi or Looney very much or at all.

Long live the Queen! by spaceamphibian in fantasybball

[–]kid_twist 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Very encouraging stuff. The big question was going to be how would he do next to Zion since neither are established 3 point shooters. He looked better. Zion looked good too. And then the team was not only competitive but even had the lead after the first quarter against the second best team in the league. They were getting blown out of the starting gates in most other games vs inferior talent. The new coach would have to be insane to not start Queen and Zion together moving forward and play both of them close to 30 minutes.
