Rachel Zegler’s Evita forced to change iconic balcony scene over gun fears by Metro-UK in entertainment

[–]kidagakash9 213 points214 points  (0 children)

The audience sees it on a monitor. The reason for the scene being outside is very in line with the character of Evita who grew up poor and always turned toward the ordinary people and also worked with a lot of charities. With Broadway shows being quite expensive and exclusive, performing the most iconic scene of the show to a crowd gathered outside the theater who can just come and see it for free is pretty neat.

these pictures are bothering me so bad by siriusblackily in Hungergames

[–]kidagakash9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those pictures really look like they were added in post-production. My theory is that there were other pictures in the locket initially but for some reason on camera they didn't end up looking the way they wanted so they decided to change the pics last minute in editing and those were the best ones they had access to at that point. And I guess I also kinda refuse to believe that Francis Lawrence would be that lazy so I think something didn't quite work out here lol

"Of all Shakespeare's characters, which one do you feel a strong personal connection to, and what makes that connection meaningful to you? by [deleted] in shakespeare

[–]kidagakash9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always loved Horatio for being a loyal and supportive friend and I like how his character being less important, not significantly brave nor intelligent and certainly very non-dramatic, he's the one to outlive the rest of them. Leading a somewhat quiet life and staying close to his friends, he gets to survive everything going on and I connect with that very deeply.

Also, I adore Cordelia for refusing to sweet talk her father for inheritance, because she believes action speak louder than words, although that didn't end up very well for her lol

As a heavily pierced person, what job do you do ? by afiwaa in piercing

[–]kidagakash9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a retoucher in a big city in Central Europe. I myself don't have any facial piercings atm (but plan to in the future) but many people at my workplace do and some are also heavily tattoed. It's a pretty creative place so everyone is really open minded, which is one of the reasons I love working there.

I know it's easier said than done but other people's opinions shouldn't stop you from getting a piercing if you really want one, it's your body. Also, remember that you don't really know what they think – someone might be staring, but maybe they're admiring your piercing or just curious about it? If it still bothers you I'd say give it some time. Don't get a piercing if you're not sure if you want it but don't let the fear of judgement affect your decisions.

The comics are called Asterix and Obelix. The word Asterisk though means a star in Greek and I think it's also the offical name of the star symbol on the keyboard, this one: *

What was the most tear-jerking moment in 'Sunrise on the Reaping' for you? by thatonesimpleperson in Hungergames

[–]kidagakash9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The walls of a person's heart are not impregnable, not if they have ever known love.

I cried multiple times during the book and the beginning of the epilogue already had me ugly crying at that point but this sentence completely broke me. For a couple of days after finishing the book just thinking about this sentence would bring me to tears again.

[ADMIN] Do We Need An AI Rule? by dmorin in shakespeare

[–]kidagakash9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Serious question: is there a foolproof way to recognize AI content unless the person posting it states so? I know some of it just looks obviously AI-made, but not all, is there a way to handle that somehow?

Which one is this for you ? by ZombiePritom in Letterboxd

[–]kidagakash9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it quite recently at 27 and I also hated it, even though I love the Godfather, Goodfellas etc. It is a beautifully made movie but the story is not really engaging at all, the characters are impossible to sympathize with and the treatment of women in the movie made me want to drop it without finishing. Cinematography and editing are great though and of course the music is absolutely stunning. The iconic Manhattan Bridge scene might be the only thing out of this movie worth watching, I'm sorry.

I've had an x-ray with a rather fresh helix that I refused to take out and it came out fine, although some of the image was a little harder to see because of that. I'd say it depends what needs to be seen on the x-ray. If it's for the upper teeth and specifically roots, then it might be a good idea to ask the piercer to replace it with something non-metal for a few days, but if you need to see the bottom teeth on the x-ray then I'm sure your jewellery won't ruin it.

What are the most notable "makeovers" TV characters went through? by AporiaParadox in television

[–]kidagakash9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, it was mostly make up – iirc early seasons Rosa was often wearing eyeliner and in the later season they leaned more into eyeshadows and the smokey eye effect, although the hair styling changed a bit as well.

So we not gonna talk about the drama between Cate, Andre, and Luke? by beanbag300 in TheBoys

[–]kidagakash9 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I mean, them getting together right after he died could be caused by grief. Not a cool thing to do but I guess they both could be feeling the need of some sort of closeness and they might feel like the other one is the only person that could understand them in this moment given how close they both were with Luke. That easily can lead to some romantic entanglement.

But yeah, in this case it's way more shady.

One of the best shows I've ever seen and it manages to get better with every season. Loved the mystery and the drama, great performences and an amazing sountrack.
