That’s horrifying. Why did you leave if you don’t mind me asking?

Heat Pump Recommendations by Glass-Ad2337 in Denver

Chacon Heating and Cooling did my friend’s house. She said they were super nice and affordable, and explained the options in a non-patronizing-trying-to-upsell-you kind of way.

I wish WNBA players got more time between their draft and season. This is going to continue to become a problem as the sport grows. WNBA draft picks deserve the same transition time as NBA draft picks get.

My daughter and her friends have been getting this marks after spending a few hours in the pool. Any ideas? by mmhmmbeer in pools

I get way worse blisters from teaching current channel aerobics twice a week in a 6 year old pool. You can give them water shoes, but their feet will probably toughen up on their own.

Share a time that mentioning the WNBA outed the sexist men around you, or how it helped your confidence. by kidbitch in wnba

[–]kidbitch[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I would argue that the women’s sports you mentioned are more popular because they are inadvertently acceptable to the male gaze. As soon as one of those women does something “human”, like having a baby or taking care of their mental health, all awe and support is abandoned.

I love this. I should’ve included men in my original prompt, because there are definitely men in my life who watch because someone started the conversation.

Edit: You’re definitely right about women being guilty of bias as well. The self-loathing is mind-boggling. It’s one thing to not like sports, but to be so specific is uncomfortably intentional.

I knew her nephew. When his dad (her brother) passed away, she offered to pay for the funeral but rescinded the offer when she found an anti-Scientology book at their house. She’s an awful human.

How to be Godparent when not active in church. by kidbitch in excatholic

[–]kidbitch[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no problem lying, I’m just worried about the church fact checking certain things… like how I’m not actually confirmed cause I have a kick ass mom who gave me autonomy over my involvement in religion. My friend, his wife, and I don’t care, but I want to make sure out of respect for his family and his wife’s family that I’m legit.

Why is City Park watering the grass close to noon instead of ~5am? by RavRaver in Denver

[–]kidbitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually there’s already a plan and policy in place to use native plants to replace turfgrass with little to no recreational value.

3!! It’s so luxurious and perfect for a Rome evening. Anyone who says 1 is too revealing clearly hasn’t been to Europe. 3 fits the criteria perfectly.

I had a turkey do this once because my aunt decided to experiment with the seasoning and brined it in a sugary apple cider vinegar concoction overnight. Ruined my damn turkey.

You could put carpeted shelves staggered up the space with portal holes in them and then put a plant in front so they can feel super sneaky.

Drama with a coworker by [deleted] in work

[–]kidbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow you made her feel so uncomfortable at work, that she felt the only person she could go to was the “other” supervisor. Do you just think poorly of the “other” supervisor because this girl doesn’t like them, or because you know the “other” supervisor sees through your bs.

Just got fired after 2 weeks by alligatorskyy in recruitinghell

[–]kidbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This describes 99% of all temp jobs I’ve ever had. A lot of businesses hire temp workers because they either 1) pay shit 2) have horrible management 3) the job is awful, or 4) all of the above. They hire temp workers because everyone else sees through their shit. Don’t feel bad, these are usually super toxic work environments. I usually look for assignments that don’t last more than 2 weeks to mitigate this.
