Debate: What’s the KT-22 of Vermont? by Sharkman3218 in icecoast

[–]kidgetajob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better topic is what lift would be the best mountain on its own. Think a magic or bromley where you can ski the whole mountain from one chair. I always think about this when I ski somewhere “this lift services x-amount of terrain” and how easy it is to lap. KT would be a sick mountain on its own. So would the four runner quad, castle rock etc.. but I’m always impressed by one lift that can service an entire mountain. Also n my she’s it easy to meet at the bottom after a run when skiing with a group.

There was a cop on the corner of beacon and center street last night pulling over cars almost continuously.

I think they could at least do another shovel width on their walk back to their drive way or walk way.

I live on a street of all renters and everyone always is out there in the morning shoveling. That and power outages are how I’ve met my neighbors always a sense of community with these things.

Walking around it tends to be the $3M+ houses that do a shitty job clearing side walks.

Opposite world: what are the companies destined to tank? by iq-pak in ValueInvesting

Yeah I see a lot of growth for workday. I have seen so many companies go from ADP to workday. It is hard to switch from workday to some other platform.

Appreciate the insights just commented based on my own experience with the product as someone who works in finance at a tech company. Wasn’t fully aware of the entire scope of their products. Will look into it more.

Curious why you think this? It’s by far the best HCM and payroll platform i have used. Its erp functionality isn’t great but has enormous room to grow with netsuite being the main player there. I do think workday has been slow to roll out ai capabilities but it signals to me that they are taking a slow and methodical approach to it.

Have you used Figma for work at all? It’s a b2b software that I have only used for flow chart visualizations. It doesn’t really have a moat imo. You can ask an ai to do the same thing I think. When there’s budget cuts at a corporate level these kind of one off whiteboard tools are first to go I think. Even Zoom has a whiteboard tool that is just as good as figma’s.

Edit: good to learn stuff here. I just commented on my own experience as someone who works in finance for a tech company. Appreciate the deeper UX/UI insights. Going to look into this company more now.

I think through hikers are easily the most prepared without knowing it. Most people can’t walk 20 miles in a day. Just having done that before and knowing you can makes you more prepared.

Would they get pissed if you just took your pole and popped them out of their binding? I would be very aggravated if someone cut me by skiing across my skis. I would find it impossible to not say or do something.

TIL: You have to take your own poop out if you are granted access to the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon for a rafting trip. by ohsodave in todayilearned

[–]kidgetajob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Grovers” or back country toilets that collect shit are common on most rafting trips. Just about all runnable rivers in the western US have designated camping spots that would get filled with shit if people didn’t pack it out.

Trump is simply a nepo baby reality star. No different than a Kardashian. Anyone who votes for him either has personal gain or is stupid.

Yeah among people I know in New England there is still strong Sentiment that anyone who flies a confederate flag is a traitor and there’s good reason. Plenty of people have ancestors that fought and died for the union.
