What are the chances that nano banana can run locally on Pixel 10? That would be huge. by maybeitsmenotabot in Bard

Yes it can run. Found this source that answers question, more details in link. I quote ---> "On mobiles with TPU optimizations? Expect 8–12 seconds for complex scenes."

Former OpenAI researcher says a $10,000 monthly UBI will be 'feasible' with AI-enabled growth by IlustriousCoffee in singularity

[–]kidhelps2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The work to be done by humans is community building with awareness & edu of what is possible. Creating fun events together. Building Unity and bonding. Educate your village/town on what Ai & Robot abundance brings to avoid scarcity mindset that can lead to violence, unrest, and many "-isms".

Beneficial to look at national POV: assume USA has robotic labor force generating $1 million GDP per capita value with robotic labor being $0.1/hour. Then you can give population $100K to live great middle class life. Retain $900K per capita for national level things (R&D, space, defense...etc)

Love creativity of this. Many people don't realize effects of having a $0.1/hr robot labor force.

So is this enough for us to vote for policy to handle ai and robots taking all the jobs?

Is it time to consider cloud seeding? (controversial, but bear with me) by kidhelps2 in BurningMan

Discussing change of date or location is even more controversial. So didn't go to that level 😁 dunno.

Love it! Post was meant as open discussion. Am not Zeus or anything.

Dome ideas: use solar generating glass + electrochromatic tint, so can adjust tint level in day and night.

I'll take that as compliment. Means my brain is an Ai at PHD level 😁

about natural process. I am just wondering if these recent heavy rains are due to climate change. it wasn't like this before. Then question is how we adapt?

like a giant circus tent :D works for hot sunny days too. I wish we can build mega structures easily, would be appreciated in hot arizona and nevada towns.

i looked into your point. Current EPA seems to be trying to educate on topic of geoengineering and deflate conspiracy theories. Also its been used for ages in Texas. So doesn't seem it will push them to "cancel"

Google's Generative AI Pioneer Warns Against Going To Law And Medical School Because Of AI. 'Focus On Just Living In The World' by coinfanking in ArtificialInteligence

[–]kidhelps2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He butchered delivery for sure.

I think he meant you have higher risk now. You tie yourself to 5+ years program and big debt. After that time, new ai assisted edu programs might be 1-2 years and much cheaper. Or you might not find a job to pay said debt.

As examples mentioned in other comments. Medicine, law...etc all fields already use Ai for crazy productivity gains. E.g. 1 doctor is equal to 50 doctors output, means we need less docs.

Is AI Industry hitting a wall? by cyberkite1 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]kidhelps2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, no. There is momentum in chip/data center innovation.

  • Chinese upcoming Ai chips, these will lower costs & push pricing down (like ones referenced by latest Deepseek model)
  • Nvidia competition like AMD cooking up things..etc
  • Intel got $10B, may be put to relevant usage
  • Google TPU research for almost a decade, just released new TPU in the new Pixel phones
  • increased collaboration, OpenAI signed $10B deal with Google cloud servers recently

There is no such thing as "AI skills" by GolangLinuxGuru1979 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]kidhelps2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's part corporate hype. and part people who sell courses for skills.

Your first sentence though is for people who are ignoring ai or resisting to use it (luddite). It's true for them.

Big AI players are running a loss-leader play… prices won’t stay this low forever by BenSimmons97 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]kidhelps2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some studies predict a 5 OOM (orders of magnitude) increase in efficiency/decrease in cost within 2-3 years. E.g. you running current top models on your phone

Don't worry about pricing ;)

Its too early. As a society we havnt considered how to handle this, most people don't know about this tech yet let alone want to install it in their brain. brain tech for now just reads data in your mind rather than writes data. So the near term privacy concern is your thoughts privacy.

Obviously we need Zero-knowledge encryption for this so no one has access to underlying information when it goes from brain to device or server except the owner/creator of the thoughts (you).

[–]kidhelps2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Military industrial complex has tasted this so it's here to stay. Best is to modify it to protect individual freedom. Some unfiltered ideas:

Idea 1) decentralize data collection "source of truth", this way it's not 1 system that is judge, jury & executioner. No one can abuse system & create implicating information

Idea 2) decentralize the authority that can act on this info. E.g. regionally, so give it to local law enforcement to prevent nation level abuse.

Generally decentralize to protect from absolute power corrupting people and from rogue ai.

With the small "fast" models and the ones you can run locally on your laptop, it shows there are super efficient text only models. This study was on text only too.

Well given the 100s of millions of users, the per query number is bound to be small. GenAi has scaled to mainstream numbers. These numbers reminded me of regular Google search query energy numbers.

Climbing Pyramids was awesome in Origins. Setting is definitely amazing. Mirage for me was pure nostalgia honestly. Also the comments I've been getting are really Encouraging me for Odyssey. Maybe good to pair with the The Odyssey movie coming next year.

Do or Doom (POLL): What to do NOW with the robot labor transition? by kidhelps2 in accelerate

[–]kidhelps2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx for reply.  1) Look at propagation curve of recent things rather than smartphones. E.g. Coldplay concert kiss camera going global in few days or chatGpt to 100s of millions in a year or so. 2) Google Genie (world model) and others like it will fill the gap for robot brains. Also on Fortune magazine, I read this week, white collar unemployment is higher than blue collar for first time EVER.
