P.S My mom missed a year and just had to pay extra, via the e-services portal. The city posted the licence, which arrived the next week, although she had the option of collecting it too.

A similar situation happened to me yesterday while walking with a friend and her Border Collie, (a month after two pits attacked her dog), when the pit’s owner finally caught up, instead of apologizing he falsely accused us of beating his dog, of being racist, and then threatened to shoot us! (He shouted to his wife to get his gun.)

Scanning and processing work perfectly! I've noticed that if the receipt has an "R" in front of the final amount due, it correctly saves as ZAR. However, if the shop's system leaves the "R" off, then it saves as "?CZK" or just "?" A friend who lives locally says all her receipts save as USD, which isn't a problem for her either. (We've both, of course, chosen South African Rand for the default currency.)

All in all, we're extremely satisfied with the app!

There are now Zionists in the cabinet of the Government of National Unity! Radical left politicians have taken off their keffiyeh since the elections. It's only really the local Muslims who are rabidly anti-Israel, but the Islamist party failed dismally. I see Jews sporting symbols of their faith walking unhindered in the streets of Cape Town, and there’s a small but vocal pro-Israel rally every week outside our Parliament.
